Students will be able to relate the text to their own science observations.
Essential Questions:
Why is it important to study science?
Why is it important to relate science observations?
Why should we read science stories?
Resources/Materials:
Back Carpet
So Many Kinds, So Many Places
Observation Journals
Activities:
Read the science story, So Many Kinds, So Many Places (10 minutes)
Ask students to explain the differences between our science observations. (5
minutes)
Have students go back to their desk to compare our observations to the stories in
their Observation Journals. (10 minutes)
