1700-1100 bc [Shang dynasty] was the reputed successor to the quasi-legendary first
dynasty, the Xia. Today, over 150,000 oracle bones have been recovered. Unfortunately, many
more artifacts containing early Chinese writing have been lost.he Chinese believe that their
history goes back 4,700 years. Scientist verification of the legendary Age of Five Rulers has not
been found.

1100-221 bc [Zhou dynasty] in the 11th Century BC, this clan had become increasingly
powerful.At that time the Shang was under the rule of King Zhou.
The Zhou dynasty, which followed the Shang dynasty and lasted from 1027 bc to 221 bc.
The Zhou dynasty was no means a unified period of history the first couple of centuries of Zhou
rule were relatively peaceful.
221 bc[Qin dynasty] the first multi-national in the Chinese history. It lasted from 221 BC to 207
BC.
206 bc-220 ad [Han dynasty] the civil war that followed the death of Qin Shihuangdi in 210 bc,
China was reunited under the rule of the Han dynasty. The Han lasted 206 bc-220 ad the Qing
dynasty took over the Han. At the end of the Qin Dynasty, one of the rebel leaders, Liu Bang,
arose to seize control of the government and establish a new dynasty called Han.The Han
Dynasty is divided into two periods: the Western Han Dynasty, Eastern Dynasty.

1644 ad-1911 ad[Qing dynasty]The Qing Dynasty adopted the form of government used
during the Ming Dynasty with some adjustments.The Qing were really successful as foreign
rulers in China. The dynasty was founded by the Jurchen Aisin Gioro clan in Manchuria. Qing
Dynasty or the Manchu was the last Dynasty ending around 1911/1912.

China was controlled by foreign nations who would dominate the ports such as Shanghai.

Manchus.

1900-1901[Boxer Rebellion] China was angered by the influence this anger led to the Boxer
Rebellion of 1990. These militants were referred as boxer because they performed physical
exercise. It was a Chinese secret organization called the Society of the Righteous.
the end of the 19th century the Western powers and Japan had forced Chinas ruling Qing
dynasty to accept wide foreign control over the countrys economic affairs.

1912 Sun Yat-Sen and others founded the Nationalist party, however the republic was
undermined by a civil war throughout China.
1923The 1923 Republic of China Presidential Election was the election held on 5 October
1923. the nominee was Cao Kun his percentage was 81.36%.
1920-1930sIn Chiang there troops fought against the warlords of China and united most of
the country in the 1920s. During the 1920s-1930s the Nationalities and communists fought for
control of China.In the 1920s they has a Communist government. Most of the men worked on
the farm while the women stayed at home and cleaned.
1949In 1949 the communists under the leadership of Mao Zedong finally defeated
Nationalists. Mao and the Communists ruled mainland China now called the people republic of
China from Beijing.

1949-1976The Chinese Revolution of 1949. On October 1, 1949, Chinese Communist leader


Mao Zedong declared the creation of the People's Republic of China. Later on he finally realized
it was not working and that he was killing millions of people. A couple years later Mao dies in
1976. The destruction of balance constitutes leaping forward and such destruction is better than
balance. Imbalance and headache are good things. - Mao, May of 1958, in a speech.
2003Hu Jintao became president of the People's Republic of China in 2003, succeeding Jiang
Zemin. He picked China up from where it was left off and China has been good since there.
