1. INPUT Input for your guitar. Always use a good quality shielded instrument cable. 2. VOLUME CONTROL (CHANNEL 1) Adjusts the overall volume of Channel 1. 3. CHANNEL SELECT The Channel Select Button allows player to manually switch between Channel 1 and Channel 2. Next to the switch there is indicator LED for each channel. When Channel 1 is active Green LED is on. When Channel 2 is active Red LED is on. The Channel Select feature can be activated with the use of the Epiphone 2 button footswitch (Channel 1-2 Selection and Reverb On/Off). When the footswitch is plugged in, the front panel Channel Select button is by-passed. 4. DRIVE CONTROL (CHANNEL 2) Adjusts gain level of Channel 2 5. MID CONTROL (CHANNEL 2) Since both channels share the 3-Band EQ, the Mid control was added to allow player additional tone shaping when using Overdrive settings of Channel 2. The Mid control allows the player to boost or cut the midrange frequency of Channel 2. The range can vary from ultra creamy setting (when the control is set at maximum clockwise setting) to hollow setting (when the control is set at maximum counter clockwise setting). When selecting your settings, we recommend that Channel 1 EQ and Volume control is set first. After you have achieved a preferred setting of Channel 1, select preferred Drive and Level settings for Channel 2. Finish it off with fine-tuning your tone by using the Mid control. 6. LEVEL CONTROL (CHANNEL 2) The Level control adjusts the overall output level of Channel 2. 7. INDEPENDENT/INTERACTIVE EQ SELECTOR Allows the player to select from two unique 2-band (Treble & Bass) EQ circuits. The Independent EQ setting allows the player to selectively boost and cut one frequency without affecting the other. The Interactive is more of a conventional EQ setting. The Interactive setting allows the player to boost and cut selected frequency while altering the level of the other frequency. Each EQ setting gives the player a pallet of great tones. The Middle controls acts independent in each EQ setting. 8. TREBLE CONTROL Adjusts the high frequency response. The Treble control is shared by both channels. 9. MIDDLE CONTROL Adjusts the middle frequency response. The Middle control is shared by both channels. 10. BASS CONTROL Adjusts the low frequency response. The Bass control is shared by both channels. 11. REVERB CONTROL Adjusts the overall Reverb level. With the use of the Epiphone 2 button footswitch (Channel 1-2 Selection and Reverb On/Off) the Reverb feature can be turned on or off. The Reverb control and feature is shared by both channels. 12. STANDBY ON/OFF SWITCH After the amp has been turned on, the amps should stay in Standby mode at least 30 seconds prior to switching the switch to Play setting and playing thru the amp. The Standby position allows the tubes warm up prior to playing thru the amp. These simple steps will extend the life of your tubes. Never turn on the amp unless the speaker cable is connected from the amp to the cabinet. 13. POWER ON/OFF SWITCH WITH INDICATOR LIGHT Turns the amp on and off. Never turn on the amp unless the speaker cable is connected from the amp to the cabinet.
14. AC MAINS PLUG WITH FUSE ASSEMBLY The Blues Custom 30 is equipped with a detachable power cable that plugs into the IEC Mains socket. The specified voltage rating is clearly marked on the rear panel of your amplifier. Before connecting, please make sure the indicated voltage rating on your amplifier is compatible with your AC power supply. Always use a grounded (earthed) power cable. Do not use power cord adapters that lift disable the ground (earth) connection of the power cable. The AC Mains Fuse is used to protect the unit from electrical faults. The replacement fuse must match the size, type and rating as specified on the rear panel of the amplifier. If the amplifier continuously blows fuses, contact an Authorized Gibson/Epiphone Warranty Service Center. 15. H.T. FUSE High Tension Fuse is used to protect the unit from electrical faults. The replacement fuse must match the size, type and rating as specified on the rear panel of the amplifier. If the amplifier continuously blows fuses, contact an Authorized Gibson/Epiphone Warranty Service Center. 16. PENTODE/TRIODE POWER SWITCH The Pentode/Triode power switch allows the player to operate the amp at two different power levels with two very distinct Class of operation and tonal characteristics (Pentode Aggressive Class AB full power at 30 watts RMS & Triode Smoother Class A half power at 15 watts RMS). 17. SPEAKER JACKS The parallel Speaker Jacks allow the player to use the Blues Custom 30 to be used with additional extension speaker cabinets. The Blues Custom Cabinet is wired parallel for 8 ohms using two 16 ohm Eminence Lady Luck Speakers. If in addition the player plans to use an extension speaker cabinet; we recommend the use of an 8 ohm cabinet and plugging the amp and the extension cabinet into 4 ohm jacks. The Blues Custom 30 can also be used with individual extension cabinet. Always match the impedance of the individual speaker cabinet to the same impedance of the output speaker jack. When using two speaker cabinets with the same impedance rating be sure to calculate the total impedance load. Example: Two 16 ohm speaker cabinets should be plugged into 8 ohm speaker jacks. Two 8 ohm speaker cabinets should be plugged into 4 ohm jacks. Do not use two speaker cabinets with different impedance rating. Always use a high quality speaker cable. Never turn on the amp unless the speaker cable is connected from the amp to the cabinet. 18. FOOTSWITCH Footswitch input jack for the use of Epiphone 2 button footswitch (Channel 1-2 Selection and Reverb On/Off).
