Join the Womens Ministry on the Early Rise Prayer Line Monday - Friday @ 7:00 a.m. The week of June 17 we will focus on Encouraging our Men. Dial-in #1-605-4754000 access code 1090828#. ************ The Evangelism Ministry will be hosting another training on June 18, 2013 at 7pm at Macedonia Baptist Church. All are welcome. Please contact Brother Jeffery Haskins for more details. ************ June 19 is our next Hour of Power when Ministers-in-Training Cheryl Henderson, Brittany Dixon-Walker, James Gibson Jr. will bring the preached word. Remember to pick up a bagged lunch as you depart this one hour service. ************ S.H.A.R.E. distribution day is Saturday, June 22 from 6:30am8:45am in the Multipurpose Room. Volunteers are always welcome on distribution day to assist in assembling the orders. See the attached flyer for the June menu. ************ The Recreation Ministry is thrilled to announce the CHURCH BAZAAR If you have crafts, baked goods, etc. that you would like to sell now is the time to get it all together for the bazaar on Saturday, June 22, rain or shine. Sign up to purchase a table at the Information Center. See the attached flyer and for further information you can contact the Recreation Ministry for questions. ************ Be in attendance at the next VOICE meeting which will focus on discussing a new public priority for Arlington County affordable housing on Sunday, June 23 at 3:30pm at Mt. Olive Baptist Church. The attached flyer has all the details for this meeting.

Membership & Spiritual Development Ministry Sickle Cell Sabbath is coming again this year! The 2013 Macedonia Sickle Cell Sabbath, a collaboration between Macedonia and the American Red Cross, will be off-site at Drew Model School (3500 S 23rd Street, Arlington, Va.) on Sunday, June 30th. The worship service will begin at 9:30 am (casual attire - no shorts or tank tops). The American Red Cross blood drive will take place in the Drew gymnasium from 9 am to 3 pm and the blood donations will be blue-tagged for sickle cell patients. Your sacrifice to give blood will be a blessing to patients who suffer with this painful disease that requires numerous transfusions. Sign up will begin on Sunday, May 26, 2013 in the Narthex or you can sign up on the Macedonia website-www.mbcva.ws. Click "contact," fill in the form and insert "blood drive" in the comment box. ************ Join the Womens Ministry on Saturday, July 20, 2013 from 8:00 am 12:00 noon, for the Not Enough Love Workshop. Romans 12:9 -16 (NLT) says, Dont just pretend to love others. Really love them. Hate what is wrong. Hold tightly to what is good. The Workshop is free of charge, breakfast will be served and child care will be provided. Please register at the Information Center or see Deaconess Pittmon or Minister Clarke for additional information. ************ Usher Ministrys Annual Day is Sunday, July 21 at 3:00pm. Pastor Martin Pickett of First Baptist Church of Merrifield will be the guest speaker. Make plans now to celebrate with our Ushers, as their work is an important part of the worship experience at MBC! ************ Dr. Hamlin has accepted a preaching invitation on Sunday, July 14, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. at St. Johns Baptist Church, Keswick, VA for their Homecoming Service. The invitation requested Judah Choir to minister. Our ushers, officers and members are asked to be a part of this worship service. You may reserve your seat now on the commercial bus with payment ($20) at the Information Center. The final date to pay to reserve your seat on the bus is Sunday, June 23, 2013. ************ Christian Education News: SAVE THE DATE: July 22-25, 2013, 6:45 p.m. for Vacation Bible School Jesus Family Reunion, The Remix! Everyone is invited; classes for all ages! Fun for the entire family, and bring a friend! Spread the Word! More information to come.

We have received the June, July and August Daily Devotionals. It is with some regret we will need to charge a small fee of $3 for each copy. Comments about the books have been positive and you can purchase your copy at the Information Center. ************ If you cannot come to the church for the Weekly Noon Day Prayer on Wednesdays, you can call in and participate on the Conference Call Prayer Line: Dial-in Number: 712-775-7000, Participant Access Code: 115939#. ************ If you know a member that is not receiving the weekly E-messenger, please encourage them to send their e-mail address to the E-messenger@mbcva.ws so, they too, can be up-to-date on all activities of MBC and the community. Also remember to contact the e-messenger if your e-mail address has changed. ************ All bulletin announcements and meeting room requests must be sent directly to the church clerk, L. Sandra Garner at sgarner@mbcva.ws. The Sunday bulletins are distributed by e-mail and limited copies are available on Sundays for our Forerunners and visitors and those who do not have access to e-mail. ************ CDs and DVDs of Sunday morning sermons are available for purchase after the 7:45am and 10:45am services at the Information Center. ************ The 2013 Bible study schedule is as follows and begins at 7pm

Each 1st Wednesday will be Corporate Prayer and Praise. Everyone is encouraged and invited to attend. Every 2nd Wednesday of the month will be Pastors Bible Study which is open to everyone. Every 3rd Wednesday of the month will be Mens and Womens Bible Study. Each 4th Wednesday will be Young Adult Bible Study. The 5th Wednesday of each month will be Leadership Night. All leaders of MBC will meet with Pastor Hamlin.

COMMUNITY NEWS:
The A.W. Briggs Health Unit Honoree is MBCs Evelyn Townes. See the attached write-up on Ms. Townes. Congratulations on this recognition Ms. Townes. ************ Greenbrier Baptist Church, located at 5401 7th Rd S, Arlington, VA 22204, is hosting a Community Yard Sale the morning of June 22nd. We invite the members of your civic associations to participate. Please post or share the attached flyers and application with your members. We would love them to be a part of this fun filled community event! Please note that proceeds from food sales will benefit the youth organization so community participation will encourage them as they work towards their goals! Please let us know if there is ANY way that we can further assist in notifying your civic and community association members about this or upcoming events. ************ Nominate an Arlington Garden Its time to nominate the prettiest gardens in Arlington for the Landscape Recognition Awards! These awards recognize the extraordinary efforts of commercial, professional and non-profit properties for installing and maintaining attractive landscaping that enhance Arlington's streetscapes. Winners are selected by the Arlington Beautification Committee on the basis of things such as their use of native plants (gardens with invasive plants lose points), the use of landscape design principles, effective yearround maintenance, and effective use of trees, shrubs or perennial plantings. Nominations due June 15. Learn more and download the nomination form. ************ iCan Bike Camp Volunteers Wanted! Volunteer to change a child's life! iCan Bike (formally Lose the Training Wheels) is designed to help individuals with disabilities learn how to ride a bike independently. Spotters are needed July 29-August 2, 2013 at Kenmore Middle School (200 S. Carlin Springs Road) to run alongside the child as they learn, providing physical and emotional support. Volunteers must be 16 years or older and have sufficient stamina and strength to walk and run alongside a bike for 75 minutes.
