Verses in Sanskrit
Om Dhaataa purastaadyamudaajahaara

Interpretation in English
Om. This immortal and celebrated prayer that glorifies The Mother Nature is authored by the Creator. It contemplates The Absolute. It is the peerless and certain means to prosperity. Its knowledge is disseminated to all by Indra . O! Lord, Multi-faceted Thou art, with the impartial eye towards the whole universe. Thou art the eternal mirth. Thou art the omnipresent Lord Naaraayana . Imperishable, emancipating and supreme is Thy state. I adore Thee with utmost reverence. Thou art beyond the creation; perpetually embracing all of it. Naarayana , Thou art the benefactor of all - being all pervasive. Thou art to be known as the essence in all beings and as the sustainer of all life. I worship Thee with respect. O! the universal Master, O! the catholic Lord, the invariable and immutable Bliss, Thou art; O! Naarayana , Thou art the utmost knowable -the all saturating supreme Self of all creation, I venerate Thee with admiration. O! Almighty (Naaraayana ), Thou art beyond all wisdom; the supreme Self in all conceivable, the infinite and the paramount principle of life ( the Brahman ). Thou art, that very basis of consciousness; the quintessence of all meditation and the meditating. I revere Thee with adoration. In the infinite universe, apparently this world is, but a tiny fragment. Both within and without, and every where, it is pervaded and manifested by Thee, O! the Knowledge Absolute. My beatification is unto thee.. Boundless, immutable and omniscient Thou art; as vast as the ocean. Enlighten us from depths of ignorance, bringing well being to all; I cherish Thee. Thou art the Heart of all -nestled, akin to the treasure house of a lotus, yet to blossom. Thou art, the vitality that is central to our existence, that is all concealed and yet, ever revealed through its effulgence, gleaming with multifarious purposes, supporting all subsistence. I reflect upon Thee. Always, precious like a diamond, akin to a fully bloomed lotus flower, the vibrancy of vitality is experienced. In the zenith of this, is the epitome of life, most minutely incorporated.

9 Tasya madhyae mahaan-agnir

Thou art, perceived as the glorious incandescence with manifold and universal visages (facets). Thou art, the most versatile and intense segregator of all life support, without senescence or decay. Ever ascending, also descending and across too is Thy disposition. My admiration to Thee. Thou art the vital metabolic process spread all over from the head to toe, energizing every bit of the insentient body. Manifesting as growth and development, Thou art, verily the integral part of the anabolism too. I hold Thee in high esteem. Akin to the blinding light of the thunderbolt from amidst the darkest clouds in the horizon; resembling the yellow hue of phosphorescence at the base of a quality grain of paddy; Thy radiance is stupendous as well as infinitesimal. I exalt Thee. In the core of that brilliance is seated Thou art, the supreme Self, termed as Paramaatma, thus conceptualized as the minutest within, the Absolute, the immutable & the formless; idolized as the Brahma, Siva, Hari & Indra etc. . I adore Thee. He, who comprehends that water is the basis of prosperity, is blessed with fortune, progeny and riches (abundant cattle). The Moon indeed, is the prosperity (flower is a metaphor for prosperity) springing from water. He, who understands this, is blessed with all fortune, progeny and all riches. Water performs the role of the promoter ( Aayatanam ) as well as that of the promoted (Aayatanavaan ). The Fire, indeed is promoted by water and yet is also the promoter of water. Likewise, water is both the promoter of and is promoted by the fire. The basic constituents (pancha-bhootas, etc.,) of life are very precious resources and have inter-dependent two-way relationship with each other (as stated above). This is the crux of Nature. This Knowledge is the imperative Wisdom. One must understand this and promise to conserve Nature. Water is the promoter as well as the promoted principle. The Air (Oxygen) indeed is promoted by water and is also the promoter of water. Likewise is water for the air. These are very precious resources and have inter-dependent two-way relationship with each other. This is the basis of the Nature. This Knowledge is the fundamental Wisdom. One must understand this and affirm to conserve them.

21 Yoaapsu naavam pratisthi

This entire world, both sentient and the insentient, is conceived as a giant Ship, floating in the immensity of all pervasive water. The Vishnu is verily, the one and only one Almighty sustaining both this world here & the one here after (heavens). But exactly, What is the description of the immense power of the Vishnu ? What will be his splendor ? How to conceptualize His state ? The eternal life principle, the Air is His supreme power. His immutable and imperishable nature is His splendor. His omnipresence in both the microcosm and macrocosm is unique. His abode is the supreme, evolved state of the Bliss Absolute. O! Your Majesty, Thou art the emperor of the emperors! Thou art the patient listener of all our ambitious calls. Thou art the fulfiller of all our greedy desires. Thy lordship presides over all our longings. Thou art the heavenly treasurer. Thy charity and mercy is this world of Thyne. My humble adoration to Thee. O! the Great Monarch, time and again, my obeisance to Thee. Thou art symbolized by the Om , the primeval sound, which in turn is symbolic of the Brahma , the Air, the Soul, the Truth, the totality and all that is bygone. I venerate Thee with trust. Thou art the integral part of all beings as well as the profound and vast exterior expanses everywhere. O! Master, Thou art, the dedicated effort, the rain and prosperity, the ruler, the exterminator, the all pervaded, the creator & the lord of people. Thou art the essence and prosperity manifesting as water, the divine nectar, the elixir of life - causing life on all planets. Thou art the quintessence of all Science. Thou art the Lord of of the beings, the virtuous, the Creator and His abode. In Thee, ever are the Brahma and the Siva. Thou art the real Bliss. The spiritually evolved behold, Thee and Thy Supreme abode, with immaculate comprehension and perfect Insight. Thy Supreme abode is attainable only by those who are virtuous, unfettered and spiritually awake. Thou art, with enticing disposition, the Reality and Truth, the Supreme, the Brahman, the Purusha (the life within). Universal is Thy form, spread all over in all directions. My most sincere obeisance to Thee. O! Naarayana , Let our intellect be ever inspired in the pursuit of conservation of the Natures vital principles to achieve prosperity for one and all. Water, by its very nature flows down hill into the ocean. It transforms into the cloud by its adaptation into vapour state. This ensures perfect recycling of this most precious resource of life. Worship in any form must necessarily be its veneration.
