atha saptaślokī durgā śiva uvāca - Siva asked: devi tvaṁ bhaktasulabhe sarvakārya vidhāyinī | O Divine Mother! You are easily accessible to kalau hi kāryasiddhyarthaṁ upāyaṁ brūhi yatnataḥ | your devotees. Tell us an easy way to accomplish success in all undertakings in the devi uvāca - Kaliyug age. śruṇu deva pravakṣyāmi kalau sarveṣṭasādhanam | The Mother replied: mayā tavaiva snehenāpyambāstuti prakāśyate|| Lord, I shall reveal the ‘Prayer to the Mother’ om asya śrīdurgāsaptaślokīstotramantrasya which enables one to attain success in all nārāyaṇa ṛiṣiḥ anuṣṭupa chandaḥ undertakings. This mantra or prayer was ‘seen’ śrīmahākālīmahālakṣmīmahāsarasvatyo devatāḥ by Narayana. It has Mahakali, Mahalakshmi and śrīi durgāprītyarthaṁ saptaślokīdurgāpāṭhe Mahasarsasvati as deities. (It is recited for their viniyogaḥ| propitiation.) om jñānināmapi cetāṁsi devī bhagavatī hi sā | balādākṛṣya mohāya mahāmāyā prayacchati |1| 1. It is the Divine mother who spreads the veil of illusion over the hearts of even the wise men. durge smṛtā harasi bhītimaśeṣajantoḥ svasthaiḥ smṛtā matimatīva śubhāṁ dadāsi | 2. O Mother Durga! You rob us of our fear when dāridryadukhaḥbhayahāriṇi kā tvadanyā we contemplate you. You bestow wisdom on us. sarvopakārakaraṇāya sadārdracittā |2| You are the cosmic benefactress. Who else can remove our poverty, sorrow and fear? sarvamaṁgalamāṅgalye śive sarvārthasādhike | śaraṇye tryambake gauri nārāyaṇi namo'stu te 3. Salutations to Narayani who is supreme |3| auspiciousness, the bestower of success and the refuge of all. śaraṇāgatadīnārta paritrāṇaparāyaṇe | sarvasyārtihare devi nārāyaṇi namostu te |4| 4. Salutations to Narayani who is devoted to the redemption of everyone who takes refuge in sarvasvarupe sarveśe sarvaśaktti samanvite | her. bhayebhyastrāhi no devi durge devi namo'stu te |5| 5. Mother! You are all these names and forms. You are the supreme controller and omnipotent. rogānaśeṣāanapahaṁsi tuṣṭā Free us from fear. ruṣṭā tu kāmān sakalānabhīṣṭān | tvāmāśritānāṁ na vipannarāṇāṁ 6. You destroy all our diseases when you are tvāmāśritā hyāśrayatāṁ prayānti |6| pleased. You destroy our desires. He who resorts to you comes to no grief. sarvābādhāpraśamanaṁ trailokyāsyakhileśvari | evameva tvayā kāryam asmadvairivināśanam | 7.
