Write a short passage describing your attitudes and beliefs towards the following questions: 1. Explain the reasons that led to you choosing language teaching as a career? I have always been interested in learning English, due to this I decided studying English at university, while studying I could realize that teaching was the career I wanted to follow. 2. Have you kept up with the new trends in language teaching? Explain. Yes, Ive been to conferences around the country, read articles about teaching, shared ideas with other teachers, followed blogs and sites in the area. 3. What is the difference between teaching and learning? The act of teaching is a process of training, building and developing skills. The act of learning is related to behavioural changes in relations with the environment. It takes people to a new way of thinking and establishes correct relations. 4. How would you evaluate a student during a course? What criteria would you use? The fluency and accuracy that students acquire during the course. If the message is conveyed. If student interact and take part in the context . 5. What does the word mistake mean to you? Think about your learners, the learning process and the implications of errors in a classroom context. Its a word the walks besides the learning process, it is important to mention the mistakes during the language analysis and not telling the mistakes to students but elicit them to find it. Its important to correct students in correct time, not always because it might discourage students to talk and write.

6. Do you think It helps to contrast the students` native language with the target language? I reckon students are able to contrast the native and target language by themselves without the teachers help. If they understand: how old are you? by answering rightly, they will contrast it. Its intrinsic. 7. Is natural conversation too difficult for elementary students? No, it is not. Elementary students will have a natural conversation about what was taught. The teacher is supposed to use elementary language with them to have the message conveyed. If they are learning how to say their personal information, there will be a natural conversation according to what was done in classroom. I reckon its not necessary to have an excellent vocabulary to have a natural conversation. 8. Should students use their mother tongue in class? Since the beginning of the course students will be familiarized with the classroom languages so if they dont know something they will be able to ask in English, Teachers should do everything to make student understand what was asked as drawing, miming, showing pictures. If all these things dont work, the mother tongue might be used. 9. Is repetition an important part of language learning? Drilling is really important, mainly when it is taught for basic students. Pronunciation is an aspect that teachers can evaluate when students repeat a word or a sentence. It helps the intonation as well to make the conversation more natural. 10. Should students hear something before they say it or see it. First: students hear the word for recognizing the sound and being able to repeat it. Second: students repeat the word to get familiar with it. Third: Student will see how it is written because they have already listened to, repeated and got familiar with the pronunciation, so it might be difficult students say the word as they see how it is written.
