    n the earlier times this was a patriarchal society and the women were expected to follow the rules

    made by men. It is said that It is said that women were subjected to a male person throughout her life. In her young days she lived under her father, after her marriage she lived under the authority of husband and in her old age she is looked after by her sons. Actually this was a practice of previous ages now women are not subject to oppression. They have realized their abilities and can earn their livelihood and even shoulder the responsibilities of the family. As the social pattern is changing i.e. women are taking responsibilities like men do, it has required bringing change in principles and ideologies in many respects. In this article we will discuss the relevance and utility of Vasya Koota in marriage match making in the present social scenario. Vedic astrology says that vasya Koota match making comes under the second category of Ashtkoota system. The term vashya means establishing control over another person. In ancient days vasya koota was used in determining whether a husband will have influence on his wife or not. In this modern time vasya koota is considered to check whether there will be a compatible and dedicated relationship between the couple or not. Lets find out how vasya koota is used in marriage match making. According to astrological principles there are various types of vashya sign which are as follows.
    A sign is considered chatuspad (quadraped) is born when a person is born in the Aries and Taurus rashis. A sign is considered Dwipad (Biped) if the birth rashi is Gemini, Libra, Virgo, Sagittarius or Aquarius. If the birth rashi is Pisces, Capricorn or Cancer then the vashya is jalachar (water-dweller). When the rashi is Leo, then the Vashya Koota of the person is Vanachar (Wild-beast).If the rashi is Scorpio, then the Vashya is Keet (Insect).

    Astrology says that planets create compatibility and incompatibility as per their nature. If the Vashya kootas of the two people who are considered for marriage are compatible, they will have better marital accord. If the signs of the couple are compatible, the Vashya koota score becomes the maximum, or 2. It gives medium results when theres an incompatibility and the score is 1. If the vashya is consumable then the score obtained is , if the vashya are mutual opponents then the score obtained is 0. A couples conjugal accord is determined through vashya.
