Our Childrens and Youth Choirs both did excellent jobs in celebrating the joy of the Christmas season

through music . Thank you to all the participants, leaders, instrumentalist and volunteers for honoring God and blessing us with your talents. This Sunday evening the Adult Choir will present their musical gift and you wont want to miss it! Wednesday evening, December the 18th, is our quarterly church conference. This is the time of the year that we look at the budget for the coming year and hear reports and proposals. It is an important meeting that often determines the direction of the church for the coming year. Your presence is needed at this meeting. As a church, we are congregationally led, which means that each member has a voice and a vote. Most decisions of the church are made on a simple majority vote. Come and let you heart be known. You may call the office to pick up or be emailed a copy of the completed Revised Constitution and By-Laws of First Baptist Church. I want to sincerely thank all the members of this revision committee for their tireless efforts in accomplishing this task,. Thank you Harold Lambert, Chris Hobby, Dr. Aric Aldridge, Beverly Pollock, Sonya Williamson, Carolyn Thompson and Rufus Powell for your hard work. I look forward to seeing you this Sunday. Paul

CHRISTMAS CHOIRS SHARE Christmas was proclaimed by the angels to announce the birth of the Child Jesus. Our Chancel Choir will share songs of Christs birth this Sunday evening. Thanks for filling the sanctuary to overflowing in support of our Youth and children as they have shared with us. Our choir members are the best! DEC 15: features CHANCEL CHOIR MUSICAL:

Christmas at The Rivers Thursday, December 19 4-6 pm

I'm in great need of some adult help! We need help loading and unloading tables and chairs. Will you serve in this way? This event, although led by youth, is a great opportunity to serve others and share Christ as a family. Please consider helping serve the meal or playing with the kids as a way to be a family that is sharing Jesus together. Children learn by example. And their most important example, besides Jesus, is you, the parent. If you would still like to be a part of this event, there are several ways you can help: Hang out with some kiddos. Play a game or help with a craft. Our youth will be there doing most of the work, but we do need some over 18 years of age supervision. Serve food. Will you come and help serve the meal? This includes setting up the line to feed everyone there, filling and refilling tea glasses, and clean up. Share God's love. This is about building a relationship with the community so that we have open doors to share Jesus. If you have the a talent for making new friends or the spiritual gift of hospitality or are just willing to love new people, we need you! The youth may be leading this effort, but there is a spot for you to serve!
