New 316L Stainless Steel Solenoid Valves Parker's Lucifer new valve programme in 316L stainless steel has been developed for process industry applications in the chemical, petrochemical, refineries and off-shore industry.
This new series features both pipes mounted (NPT 1/8, 1/4, or 3/8 size) and NAMUR compatible models in 3/2 and 5/2 functions with 4 mm and 8 mm orifice. Some models are equipped with the typical Lucifer sealing plate which allows for the on-site conversion of the valve from 5/2 to 3/2 (or vice-versa) by simply rotating the plate by 1800. Specific models are available with an extended temperature range
from -40C to +65C allowing for applications with severe temperature requirements.
The new range includes types with spool design which permit to fulfil particular functions for safety applications. The integrated exhaust (with 22 mm coils) in the pilot gives the valve a 100% protection against any penetration from outside and eliminated the need for an additional connection when mounted in a sealed enclosure. A unique choice of electrical parts meet European CENELEC standard for explosion proof protection, and lower power versions are ideal for direct electronic control and reduced power consumption requirements.
The series offers new features and benefits, in particular: More savings regarding mounting, operation and energy
Additional safety by eliminating any risk of water penetration in the actuator with the integrated exhaust of the pilot Elimination of the risk of sticking thanks to a specially designed dynamic sealing (spool design) Total modularity Universal and interchangeable electrical parts Flexible series performing all functions
E-Series Filter Products Parker Filtration has introduced a new range of 'green' filter products the ESeries which will significantly reduce waste levels and landfill use.
The new Parker environmental "E-Series" range includes developments of the following standard filter types: 1300 series low pressure in-line filters GSO Spin-On medium pressure in-line filters CN medium pressure filters 7000 Series high pressure filters
The 'green' design of the new E-Series products sees the elimination of the metal components, which were previously an integral part of the assembly. Reinforced composite end caps now replace the metal end caps and the support tube is retained within the filter assembly, for re-use.
As a result, elements can be crushed to remove waste oil for recycling, and are fully disposable by incineration.
E-Series CN filters are medium pressure line-mounted filters for hydraulic pressure and return line applications. Three models are available 15CN, 40CN and 80CN with internally threaded port dimensions from 3/4 inch to 2 inch BSPF(G).
GSO E-Series Spin-On filters feature a disposable spin-on canister system and are used in-line in medium pressure applications with flow rates up to 150 l/min at a maximum working pressure of 40 bar.
F1 Piston Motor Finding favour fast within the ROV (remote operated vehicle) sector is the Parker range of Bent Axis Piston Motors, manufactured in aluminium. The motor has several innovative designs that have kept Parker at the forefront of piston pump technology. High efficiency is achieved by using lightweight pistons, as any loading is taken by the timing gear within the motor itself. This also makes the unit less susceptible to temperature shocks, a common event within the ROV industry. A high power to weight ratio has a domino effect in that it reduces the overall weight of the vehicle; and this reduces the size of the flotation tank, again reducing overall weight making the whole machine lighter but more powerful.
MB6X4 Miniature Four-Way Ball Valve Parker Instrumentation has launched the new MB6X4 miniature ball valve which is designed for the crossover control of two fluid streams. A unique one-piece seat and packing design eliminates the potential leak path problems associated with the expansion and contraction of individual components found in competitive valves. It additionally allows the valve to work over a much wider temperature range than has been available to date. With a range of -54 to +149C (-65 to +300F), the new valve is extremely versatile and capable of high-performance routing/directional control of media in chemical, petrochemical, oil, gas and other industrial applications.
The MB6X4 ball valve's construction makes it ideal for fast-acting operation. This is aided by positive handle stops which provide exact port positioning. The MB6X4 has 0.062 inch/ 1.66 mm orifices rated for 2500 PSIG (172 bar) CWP and a Cv flow co-efficient of 0.097. It is fabricated in 316 stainless steel and is suitable for use with 1/8 inch tubing.
A-LOK Anti-Vibration Tube Fittings Submersible TV Surveys (STS) has standardised on Parker's high-integrity A-LOK tube fittings for its range of advanced ROVs. The fittings which are typically the single most common component on these undersea vehicles are essential for reliable operating, and feature unique tube gripping techniques which combat the high shear forces encountered in ROV operations.
Tube fittings 'glue' together the hydraulic infrastructure of ROVs, and several hundred are often needed for the latest highly-complex machines with several multi-function manipulators. The cost of any failure during service is invariably
high, in terms of both downtime, and in the case of a hydraulic systems failure the knock-on damage that sea water can cause to pumps and valves. With such a complex hydraulic system as that required for today's ROVs, which can be subject to considerable shock and vibration, and increasingly higher pressures now as high as 3000 PSI internally and considerably more externally at depths of 2000 m STS take extreme care over component selection.
