LESSON PLAN in Kinds of Sentence According to Function I.

Objectives: At the end of the lesson the students should be able to: 1. recall the definition of a sentence. 2. enumerate and discuss the kinds of sentence according to usage. 3. participate actively during discussion.

II. Subject Matter: Topic: Reference: Kinds of Sentence According to Function Module in English Grammar page 48 Author: Mrs. Lilia M. Sugaran

III. Teaching/ Learning Procedure: A. Pre-activity: opening prayer, checking of uniforms and rooms cleanliness B. Activity Proper: Define a sentence? Motivation: Let them read the short passage with feelings CHORAL READING: Rise to the teacher! Give him due high respect. The teacher is almost an apostle. Are there men nobler or more glorious you can find? They make and mold the character and mind. C. Analysis: 1. What did you notice on the punctuation that is being used? 2. How did you read it? 3. Can you identify the sentence according to its function? D. Abstraction: I-nterrogative a sentence that asks a question. D-eclarative a sentence that declares something. I-mperative a sentence that command or request. E-xclamatory a sentence that expresses strong feelings.

E. Application: Construct 8 sentences using the four kinds of sentences according to its function : 2- interrogative 2- declarative 2- imperative 2- exclamatory IV. Evaluation: What have you learned today? V. Assignment: Read in advance the story of Pygmalion and Galatea page 96 and answer exercise A number 1-10.
