ORGANI ZATI ON (GROUP ASSESSMENT)

a. Opening: The chair opened the meeting appropriately i.e. defined the purpose of meeting,
welcomed and thanked members for their time.

b. Closing: The chair reviewed the agenda (if relevant); summed up the negotiation by reviewing
actions, decisions or assignments.

c. Negotiation Process: The negotiation moved in an organized, logical way toward the final phase.
Students show evidence of all phases of negotiation

a. Preparation (All participants showed evidence of preparation by presenting relevant
arguments)

b. Discussions
All parties described the facts of the situation : (how they feel and what they think about
it)

Participants explained to opponent(s) how the situation looked to them in terms of both
sides interests and needs

c. Proposal/counter proposal : Evidence of bargaining processes - making offers or requests
based on the facts and argument given as well as counter proposals (if any)

d. Agreement/disagreement/call for time-out

LEADER CONTROL AND GROUP NORMS (GROUP EVALUATI ON):

a. Pace: The discussion moved along the right speed, without long pauses between speakers. The
leader effectively guided the discussion, not taking too much or too little control

b. Responsiveness (Individual): All group members demonstrated active listening behaviors
through verbal and nonverbal cues. Verbal and nonverbal feedback was evident. None of the
members sat unresponsively while others talked. Group members interacted and took equal
part in the meeting and responded appropriately to points discussed.
