LANGUAGE OF STUDY
The Master of Divinity Programme is offered in English.
At the end of this programme of study, the student will be able to:
• demonstrate an understanding of:
a) the Bible in its original context, showing a knowledge of
issues related to the literary, historical, social and religious
setting of particular books, including basic knowledge of one
Biblical language.
b) doctrinal, ethical, historical, pastoral, leadership and
missiological theological thinking relevant to ministry in India
today.
c) contemporary Indian society, including a sympathetic
understanding of other religions, poverty and its causes,
people groups and issues related to Christian’s in the work
place.
• show:
a) how to interpret a biblical passage in the present Indian
context, taking into account the type of literature, its
historical setting, and its place in Scripture.
b) evidence of developing a Christian worldview by
reasoning through a subject, reflecting on it and showing its
MINISTERIAL FORMATION
Each M.Div course is designed to equip students with skills and
knowledge for active involvement in Christian ministry and mission.
Whether it be skills of biblical interpretation, knowledge of church
history or specific skills in evangelism and cross-cultural
communication, M.Div courses intend to enable students to apply
their learning to building up the body of Christ and extending his
kingdom in this world.
Each course is studied while students are in ministry. In addition,
active involvement in ministry will be assessed as part of the course
and students will be given credit for evidence of growing
participation in ministry as well as in their ability to reflect on what
they are doing
For the award of Master of Divinity (Standard Entry), candidates must complete:

For non TAFTEE students who join the upgrade M.Div.
Process
Students who enter by the standard entry route will normally be
expected to complete their course requirements at Levels 1-3 within
3 years of joining the programme. Students will normally be
expected to complete the second part of the programme within 2
years of progression. The normal course process is for 5 years.
Supervised Ministry
By a combination of personal reflection, assessment by a Ministry
Supervisor and assessment by the TAFTEE tutor, students are
required to submit regular assessment related to the ministry in
which they are involved.
Personal Transformation
Students are required to interact regularly with their TAFTEE tutor
and to discuss issues of personal growth. A report must be filed
regularly to indicate that this process has been taken seriously.
Students will gain credit for this part of the programme, but will not
be graded for it.
Admissions
Admissions will normally take place once in a year for entry into the
programme in June. Applications should be submitted to the Dean of
the M.Div Programme with necessary certificates and references by
the end of April. The admissions process will be by selection and
students may be required to appear for an interview and to write an
entrance assignment.
Progression
Students are required to pass the minimum number of credits
required from Levels 1-3 with at least 50% in each course before
progression to Level 4 and 5 courses

Monitoring
The programme will be monitored for ministry outcomes as well as
academic results
Fees
Fees will presently be set at Rs 250/- per credit
Additional Fees will be charged for Residential Schools
Credits
The Credits assigned at BTS need to be reviewed to see if they are
appropriate at M.Div level.

COURSE SYNOPSIS
At present TAFTEE offers the following courses. These courses are
offered on a cyclical basis and may not all be available every term.
TAFTEE reserves the right to add new courses, remove courses and
revise courses at any time in an attempt to improve the programme.

RECRUITMENT CRITERIA
• Candidates should have completed TAFTEE’s BTS programme
or a B.Th from a recognised theological/Bible college
• Candidates should have a desire to grow in their faith and
knowledge and be actively involved in Christian ministry or
mission.
• Candidates will be selected from the applicants on the basis
of academic merit and ministerial involvement
FEES
Fees
Fees for the M.Div Programme are set at Rs 20,000/- per year for
three years.
Students will be registered for a maximum period of five years after
which additional fees will be payable. Additional fees will be
charged for those who attend additional Residential Schools.
