Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Should include: Supervise operation of community health workers based in the catchment area of DFID and BPRM-supported health facilities. Facilitate the appropriate and effective operations of CHWs Help development of health education messages ensuring that information included is accurate, salient and culturally sensitive Help develop training curricula; support Community Health Manager in identification and utilization of different media for health education messages Maintain database of CHWs, health facilities, areas of coverage, contact information, training topics, pre/post test scores, health referrals and reporting schedules Assist in recruitment process for CHWs, CHW Field Officers, and trainers Assist in TOT and capacity building of staff; ensure that trainers are adequately prepared to instruct CHWs Maintain regular communication with health education field staff and CHWs Help set-up, organize and monitor CHW meetings and follow-up trainings. Including site visits in implementation areas to monitor CHW activity Support Community Health Manager in meeting with other departments, staff, beneficiaries, community members and other stakeholders to provide briefing on proposed activities, implementation and monitoring plan and roles and responsibilities of each team member Schedule regular site visits for monitoring and supervision to ensure quality of services, accurate data collection and tracking of health education sessions and feedback forms Work with team on timely procurement and delivery of required commodities Analyze weekly reports from field and provide feedback for CHW program in order to adapt programs to changing contexts Continually assess situation providing new strategies or additional areas for attention In cooperation with M&E office, assist the team in conducting assessments and surveys through FMOs, data assistants and CHWs Assist in reporting, meeting donor target indicators, and setting plans for monitoring and evaluation. Compile data and submit reports as per schedule
Knowledge and Experience:
Should include; University degree in health, public health, pharmacy, nursing or related field Should have professional experience in implementing health related projects Should have experience working with INGOs in humanitarian or development contexts; previous emergency response, conflict/post- conflict experience preferred Should have experience with community mobilization, community sensitization, and different channels of communication Must be able to analyze and interpret data and to track performance against program indicators Must be highly fluent in written and spoken English; must be native Arabic speaker Must be skilled in Microsoft Office Must be willing to travel frequently to field sites for long periods. Must have excellent organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks in a dynamic environment. Must be able to work extra time on weekends and evenings when required. Must have the ability to work effectively with various personalities and cultures. Strong interpersonal and communication skills required.
