The Nightingale lamp a time honored icon of
the Nursing Profession, named after the Mother of Modern Nursing. Florence Nightingale. She carried a lamp when doing the nightly rounds at the Barrack hospital in Scutari during the Crimean War. Her vigilant and diligent watch over the hundred of wounded patients added to the numerous duties essential in the management of patient care. She was known for her compassion and untiring dedication, was sighted out for respect and affection and was immortalize as the Lady with the Lamp. The lamp is also known as the lamp of Nursing, the Lamp of Knowledge, as insignia of Nursing and Nursing Education which represents the emblem of manifestation of compassion and diligent vigilance. To you our dear Neptunites, may this lamp remind you of the warmth of caring you are to give to those who are wounded. Sick and all those who are in need. May the light guide you in your journey as you strive for excellence and in your commitment to heal others.
