The document discusses the general performance characteristics and rating conditions of different configurations of the LM6000 singular annular combustor (SAC) gas turbine.

The LM6000 comes in gas-fueled and liquid-fueled versions, and can be configured with different NOx suppression options like dry gas, gas with steam injection, gas with water injection, and liquid fuel with or without water injection.

The performance ratings provided in the tables are based on new and clean conditions and take into account inlet and exhaust losses, fuel type, use of water or steam for NOx suppression, and standard or cold day temperatures.

CHAPTER 3
Performance
3-1 General Performance and
Rating Conditions

The latest version of the steadystate performance program is a Microsoft Windows based
program which provides cycle analysis of all
versions of the LM6000.

This chapter provides general performance

characteristics of the various configurations of
the LM6000 singular annular combustor
(SAC) gas turbine. Due to the broad range of
application and configuration specific conditions, performance predictions should be modelled with the steadystate performance
computer program referenced in Appendix B,
paragraph B-2.

LM6000-PA Performance Rating

Table 3-1 summarizes basic rating information

for gas and liquid fueled versions of the original LM6000. These ratings are for the gas turbine in new and clean condition with the noted
inlet and exhaust losses.

Performance rating information for the

LM6000-PC SPRINT system is included in
Table 3-3.

3-2 Rating Capability and

Characteristics
Figures 3-1 through 3-5 provide a definition of
the power envelope and continuous rating
characteristics of the various LM6000-PA and
-PC gas turbine models. Included are the
effects of gas or liquid fuel, with and without
water or steam (gas only) nitrogen oxide
(NOx) suppression. Also, the -PC model

3-2

Change 1

includes a version without variable inlet guide

vanes (VIGVs) for power generation. The
mechanical drive option requires use of
VIGVs. Figure 3-6 illustrates the unfired subidle gas turbine airflow.
SPRINT performance is shown for each
fuel/NOx combination using the no-VIGV
configuration only. The relative effect of
SPRINT is similar to that of the VIGVs but
is not illustrated.
Specific site application ratings, performance
guarantees, and performance at conditions
other than noted in the figures for all LM6000PA and -PC models must be determined using
the Average Engine Steady State Computer
Program as referenced in Appendix B, paragraph B-2. Computer program and calculated
performance output are proprietary to GE and
their authorized Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs).
