Overview
This chapter introduces the R&D background of ZXPOS
CNT-UMTS, the composition and main features of the software.
Product Background
The efficiency and profitability of a mobile communication
network depends on the quality and capacity of that network.
The relevant problems are shown directly on the ports of
customers and carriers where the core fields of network
optimization are. Due to the change of the radio propagation
environment and frequent expansion and upgrade, network
optimization becomes one of the core tasks to which carriers
attach much importance. Network optimization personnel are in
urgent need of a set of tools for testing, analyzing and
diagnosing the networks, to locate and predict network quality
and capacity, based on which network optimization plans can be
further made. During this process, the network optimization test
software is the most important factor.
Nowadays, the market of Network Optimization is extending
which indicates a flourishing future of the software application.
In such a background, ZTE Corporation successfully develops
network optimization testing software-ZXPOS CNT to meet the
demand of the booming market.
Product Composition

the following chapters
Event List
The event list displays the device number ,event name, event ico
file and event sound file .The event can be sorted by the name
of its one certain attribute alphabetically where the fixed event
is by its own event name ,while the user-defined event is by the
device . All the events displayed in the event list, will be
analyzed after the system gets started. The event list also
includes one right key menu, as shown in Figure 44,which
includes add event, delete event and edit event.
FIGURE 44
R I G H T K E Y M EN U
Add Event
When the user has customized one event, it can ben added into
the event list for anayslis. The function of adding event is only for
user-defined event. If there is no user-defined event, then the
button will be invalid. If user has customized its event, then it
can be added, as shown in Figure 45.
47
FIGURE 45
AD D EVEN T
Delete Event
To delete event is also only for user-defined event. If one
user-defined event is deleted from the event list, it will not be
analyzed any more. It is not to delete completely, and actually is
saved by the system. The user-defined event deleted can still be
added to the event list for analysis.
Edit Event
Editting event is to edit the attributes of the event to enable it
more suitable for the practical requirement.
1. Fixed event edit is as shown in Figure 46.
48
Chapter 7
FIGURE
46 EDIT EVENT
For fixed event ,only its icon and sound can be edited, but its
equipment number and name can not .
2. User-defined Event Edit
The window of user-defined event edit is same as add
event, and the modification of attributes of the events are
almost same .The difference is the drop down list box.For the
Event Add ,all the user-defined events are listed for user
selection while for the Event Edit ,only the current event is
listed , and can not be modified ,better meets the practical
requirement.
For the editing of whether play sound, it is same for fixed
event and user-defined event. There are 4 function buttons:
Activate the sound of one event
Deactivate the sound of one event
Activate the sound of all events
Deactivate the sound of all events
User-defined Event
User-defined event is mainly targeted for mobile, including
measurement
items,fixed

Indoor Test
Indoor test can perform wireless measurement and record
results without referring to GPS messages. In the process of
testing, location information should be input by consulting with
indoor map information. This function is mainly used where GPS
does not cover, such as indoor and urban canyon, to collect data
needed by network engineers in optimizing indoor performance .
As an result, the capability of indoor network can be improved.
This chapter mainly introduces the tools and methods for indoor
testing.

FAQ
Question: The computer shows the COM3 port exists, but why
can not be detected by software?
Answer: COM3 port can be the infrared communication port of
laptop which can not be detected.
Question: To extend serial port, can use USB to Serial cable, or
Double Serial Port Card.which one is better?
Answer: It is better to use serial port card. Because the USB to
Serial cable is difficult to guarantee the uneven route .If the USB
cable is disconnected, a fatal problem can occur, when the test
software can not control as a system reason .
Question: When computer restartes after sleeping, and restarts
the software, why con not pass the hardware dog detection
Answer: The software checks the hardware dog periodically .If
the computer just recovers from sleeping, it is possible that the
hardware dog recovers slower to cause the wrong detection.
When the computer recovers to its normal status, it will be
normal to start the software.
Question: What should be configured and connected with the
handset, to test PS service?
Answer: For PS service test, besides connecting the handset
with USB port, the handset should be connected with computer
via serial port. USB port works as handset diagnosis port, while
the COM serial port functions as PS service data transmission
port.Meanwhile, the corresponding configuration should be done
in the test handset.
Question: Why the software can not open the Map information?

FAQ
The inddor test file record starts only when the Drive Test
dotting starts, and the APT file starts to save . Indoor test need
to pre-define the Drive Test trace, when the APT file is not saved.
Then the dotting test is started following the defined trace, and
report handset information and save APT file.
Notice: The first point in APT file is not necessary the first point
in the Drive Test , either the time information when click the
save file button ,while it is the Drive Test information of the first
dotting ,when the saving APT file already starts.
