PROGRAMME
The Shell Graduate Programme provides an industryleading development framework for graduates,
tailored to their career orientation.
Accepted graduates become eligible for the next step in accelerating career progression as
Shell professionals in two to five years through a structured learning programme and broadening
job assignments supported by coaching. Graduates are given challenging, hands-on roles and
responsibilities in preparation for fast career progression upon exiting the programme.

On starting with Shell, you and your Supervisor will


commit to a development plan which outlines the

monitor and track your performance through a bi-annual
Goals and Performance Appraisal (GPA) and Individual
Development Plan (IDP), so it is clear on where you
stand and what you need to do to be successful and
continuously raise your game.

Technical disciplines still form the heart of our
business, and we continue to break new ground.
You could join us as a graduate in one of our
twenty-five technical disciplines, including:
Geology/Geophysics

Petrophysics

Be responsible for finding new and commercially viable


reserves of oil and gas, as well as developing and
maximising the output of existing fields.

Critical at every stage from first exploration to full


production, petrophysicists acquire and evaluate well
data that helps us construct reservoir models and then
predict the potential flow.

Responsibilities could include:


Acquiring 3D seismic data

More specifically you will:

Creating advanced geological models

Design data acquisition programmes

Defining reservoir properties

Production Technology

Asset Maintenance Engineering

Develop a detailed understanding of how oil, gas and


water are distributed within a reservoir. This involves
transforming petrophysical and geological data into
dynamic models.

As part of a team of geoscientists and petroleum


engineers, you will be involved in the full life-cycle of
field development. The technical challenges you face
will vary, depending on geographic location and
field maturity.

Join a team that provides critical engineering support


to oil and gas production facilities, on and offshore, as
well as refineries and chemical plants.

Your work will involve:


Developing economically viable plans
Using multi-cell simulation techniques

Well production improvements

Forecasting oil and gas flow rates

Field monitoring and flow optimisation

Recommending well locations

Conceptual design of development wells

In your hands will be the design, safe construction


and maintenance of oil and gas wells. You will help
find the best technical, commercial and environmental
ways to recover hydrocarbons.
