N March 1, Brickfields
Asia College (BAC) and
Tech Outreach Malaysia
(Tech stands for The Economic
Consultancy House) signed a
memorandum of understanding
(MOU) for a collaboration on
corporate social responsibility
(CSR) projects.
The CSR projects are in the area
of entrepreneurship development
for underprivileged women, which
consist of single mothers, abused
women, abandoned women
and women with incapacitated
husbands.
The MOU aims to provide
opportunities to educate
these women through various
entrepreneurship and business
management courses to help
them manage their small business
entrepreneurial ventures.
BACs managing director Raja
Singham says, We are trying
to do whatever we can in terms
of education by improving lives
through education. In this case, by
improving the lives of these single
mothers, we also improve the
lives of their families. As Mahatma
Gandhi had said, Educate a man
and you educate one person;
educate a woman and you educate
a whole nation.
The signing of this MOU is
part of BACs efforts to develop
sustainable educational
programmes in line with its vision
of empowering Malaysians via
education.
BAC has several other
education-based CSR initiatives
that are dedicated to enhancing
the livelihood of children, the
underprivileged and the disabled.
This includes EduNation, a
web-based platform that provides
