Rollarc type 400D

The Rollarc 400 contactor

is a basic device, without
equipment other than the closing
electromagnet
and the auxiliary contacts.
It is intended for qualified installers
to fit it with devices needed for its
operation (isolation, LV sockets,
position indicator, etc.) and for the
safety of operating staff.
It is kept closed by the
electromagnet hold---on coil that is
continuously supplied.

The Rollarc 400 D contactor

with latching mechanism is the
same as the 400 type contactor,
except that it has a mechanical
latching mechanism with shunt
release.
Opening is caused by a brief
injection of power from the release.
An auxiliary contact prevents it
from being supplied while device
open.

in the O position.

original packaging.

area, sheltered from the rain,
splashing of water
and chemical agents.

protective cover to effectively
protect them against dust, debris,
paint, etc.

15 mm deep to prevent
destruction of the contactor.
Tightening torque must be
complied with: 40 to 50 Nm.

determined in function of the

H clean the entire external surface

The 400 type contactor is intended

to perform 300,000 mechanical
operations, without maintenance of
the live parts (100,000 operations
for the 400 D type).
The following are advised :
H check for wear and tear of
arcing contacts every 50,000
operations

At least twice a year :

or every 20,000 operations, grease
with a grease for low temperature :
H the two electromagnet magnetic
circuit guides

the mobile part of the auxiliary

H during disassembly, hold the
device as long as the 4 fastening

The pressurised SF6 gas

inside the pole retains all its
dielectric properties after breaking.
Electrical durability is limited by
contact wear.
This wear depends on device use.
We draw your attention to the risk
of cleaning processes. consisting
of spraying solvents at high
pressure.

The main drawbacks of such

processes are.
H damage due to jet pressure and
impossibility of re---lubricating
inaccessible fixing points.
H risk of overheating due to
solvent presence on contact areas.
H elimination of special
protections.

CAUTION
Never use solvents and alcohol.

If the insulating parts are dusty, it

is recommended that you remove
the dust using a dry cloth.

Screw, in place of the self---locking

nuts (so as not to weaken them),
standard nuts (12 mm).

Connect the indicator lamp or a

bell between the input and
output connections of pole no.1.

At the same time screw the two nuts

until the lamp is lit or the bell rings.

Measure the coil air gap using a

thickness gauge.
Write down this measurement.
Proceed in the same manner for
poles 2 and 3.
If, for one or several measurements,
the value of the air gap is less than
or equal to 3 mm, the contactor
needs to be replaced (on a new
device, the air gap is 5.1 mm +0.5).

To reassemble, remove the

standard nuts...

...put back the washers and the

original self---locking nuts (do not
place and remove the self---locking
nuts more than twice).

At the same time tighten the 2
self---locking nuts until the
electromagnet comes into contact

Slightly untighten the nuts so that
