Delivery Method
Blended learning mostly online via OnlineCampus (an
interactive online learning environment) with intensive class
discussion and collaboration, plus a one-week compulsory
residency. The residency will be held in Salford, England or
Zrich, Switzerland.

Strictly limited to 90 per intake (6 start dates per year)

Tuition Fees
10,000 CHF (Swiss Francs). Fees are payable in interest
free installments. This includes library access, OnlineCampus access, graduation fees, and University of Salford
matriculation fees. The fees are for the entire programme, and include all the courses as well as supervision for the final innovation project.
The Residency costs, such as airfare and accommodation, plus a 2,000 CHF fee for the residency, and some of
the textbooks that you will need for the course are not
included in these fees.

Admission Requirements
Normally a minimum 2:2 honours degree or equivalent.
A wide range of professional qualifications are also accepted either in partial or complete fulfilment of entry
requirements.
We welcome applications from students who may not
have formal/traditional entry criteria but who have relevant
experience or the ability to pursue the course successfully.
A student whose first language is not English will be
required to achieve IELTS 6.5 or above with no individual
element below 5.5, or equivalent recognised English test.
Alternatively suitable evidence of working or studying in
an English-speaking environment will usually be sufficient
to demonstrate an acceptable English level.

Course Details
Both in the UK and overseas the internationally focussed
LLM is a gold standard qualification for entry into the
legal profession, as the focus of specialisation has increasingly shifted to international legal practice.
In the corporate business world, the LLM carries a similar
cachet to the Executive MBA, while offering greater specialism in its content.
In many European jurisdictions, the LLM is a compulsory
prerequisite for entry into the legal profession.
Students will take the modules below (four modules
and final business innovation project/dissertation) in a
sequence dependent on their start date.
International Law of the Sale of Goods
You will develop an in-depth understanding of the role of
law in the sphere of international business transactions
and acquire advanced knowledge, understanding and expertise in the law applicable to international agreements
and their negotiation. You will develop a general range
of transferable and generic skills in problem-solving and
reasoning, negotiation, time-management and written
and oral communication, as well as your capacity for
critical analysis and logical thinking.

International Intellectual Property Law


You will learn about the fundamental legal concepts of
Intellectual Property within a global commercial setting
and about EU Intellectual Property Law and how it operates in a global context. You will also gain an in-depth
understanding of the global regulation and policy-making that underpins the commercial exploitation of Intellectual Property Rights. You will develop a general range
of transferable and generic skills in problem-solving and
reasoning, negotiation, time-management and written
and oral communication, as well as your capacity for
critical analysis and logical thinking.
International Corporate Law and Governance
You will develop an understanding of the fundamental
legal concepts that characterise corporate identity and
activity in a global context and gain an advanced and
analytical knowledge of the theoretical framework underpinning corporate governance theories and strategies,
and the varied approaches to their regulation. You will
apply in a comparative manner these concepts of corporate identity and corporate governance to at least two regional models of corporate governance (indicatively from
Anglo-American, Western European and Asia-Pacific).
You will be encouraged to think critically about theory
and practice in an ethical and professional manner.

Advanced Contract Law and Negotiation


You will gain a thorough grounding in the major issues
and perspectives of the law, with a particular focus on
contractual terms relating to the international sale of
goods, intellectual property rights and corporate arrangements. You will also get an overview of the strategic
importance of skilled negotiation in the execution of
trans-national business contracts. You will develop your
knowledge of the strategies, tools and skills for effective
negotiation of trans-national business contracts.
Business Innovation Project
Dissertation: a conventional dissertation of 12,000 to
15,000 words, consisting of a research question, aims
and objectives, rationale for undertaking the study, literature review, research methodology, analysis of findings,
conclusions and recommendations.
