Core Loss Tester

http://www.whitelegg.com/products/electric-motor/electric-motor-manufacture/core-loss-tester

A highly accurate method for determining losses found in the core of stators, rotors, and armatures.
Standard Models up to 500, 1250, 2500,5000
and 10,000 HP
Custom units up to 50000 HP on request
Flux Metering System
State of the art Notebook and printer as
standard
Software allows differentiation between NEMA,
pre-NEMA, U, T, and IEC frames.Users may
build their own database.
NP winding verification program and array of
mechanical and electrical testing fields make
these testers a powerful repair documentation
centre. All test data is presented on a test report on pre-printed or software generated letterhead.

The CLT-Core Loss Tester is a fully automated high current, low voltage test centre designed specifically for
testing rotors, stators, and armatures up to 500 HP or 10kVA. The CLT range simulates the real-world
operating conditions and calculates core loss based on actual device characteristics using our industry
leading software. The Model CLT range provides documentation of the rebuild and manufacturing processes
by automatically generating customized reports detailing core performance.
The CLT verifies the effectiveness of the repair and production processes therefore protecting against
premature motor failures. This verification assures greater reliability and efficiency while reducing warranty
costs and improving customer satisfaction.
The CLT provides a quick, efficient, and highly accurate method for determining losses found in the core of
stators, rotors, and armatures. Core loss is a major cause of inefficiency in electric motors, second only to
copper winding loss. The tester can determine if a motor is capable of operating at rated efficiency after
rebuilding or at time of manufacture and provides the highest accuracy available today. The automated
testers assure that electric motor products are reliable and energy efficient. This assurance shows that you
are protecting your customers investment by reducing downtime and energy consumption and reducing your
costs associated with warranty repairs.

Software
Exceptionally versatile and user friendly, the industry leading software differentiates between NEMA, preNEMA, U, T and IEC frames and standard and high efficiencies and applies the appropriate specification
limits to the test. Users may also build their own databases with special parameters for the particular
equipment they service or manufacture. The software also contains a Winding Verification program and an
array of customizable mechanical and electrical testing fields that enables our Core Loss Tester to be a
powerful repair documentation centre.
Acceptable losses vary with core configuration. Separate parameters need to be determined for each frame
and efficiency type in order to achieve the greatest accuracy. This discovery lead to the development of the
latest software versions.
*Note that HP ratings vary with impedance. Older motors can have higher impedance and therefore the
maximum motor size that can be tested will be less than that stipulated
