Flow Control

This document describes the reformulated tangent method for flow control using three readings. For each reading, it calculates the dead time (Td), time constant (Tc), and response rate (RR) based on the initial and final process variable (PVi and PVf), valve angle (β and θ), and change in manipulated variable (ΔMV). It then provides the tuning rules for PI control using both Ziegler-Nichols and Cohen-Coon methods based on the Td, Tc, and RR values. The calculations and tuning parameters are nearly identical for the three readings.
