    Product Styles
    Plates are formed from cold rolled
    steel with vertical ripples to maximize
    heat transfer surface areas. To increase
    oil flow and heat dissipation, the end of
    each plate is designed with a thicker oil
    film, sloping toward the large open slot in
    the header tube.
    Superior Product Benefits
    Rounded plate edges. Plate edges
    are slit to width after welding and coined
    to provide a rounded edge, which enhances
    paint adhesion, stops corrosion and
    prevents moisture from accumulating.
    100 percent self-draining. Trantech
    welded-header radiators are 100 percent
    self-draining.
    Maximized header slots. The slotted
    header of welded Flexoplate radiators
    is made of heavy wall 3, 4 or 5 O.D.
    steel tubing, which provides strength for a
    self-supporting assembly. The area of the
    header slots is maximized to provide a full
    flow of oil through the rippled plates.
    Plate-to-header. During the plateto-header welding process, the insides of
    radiators are purged with an inert gas to
    eliminate weld scale.

    Powder Coat Pretreatment. All
    radiators are chemically cleaned and
    treated using an automated eight-stage
    metal cleaning and conditioning system,
    ensuring superior paint adhesion and
    corrosion protection.
    Paint on the inside. Welded-header
    radiators are painted internally with

    epoxy primer to ensure cleanliness and to


    enhance corrosion resistance.
    Powder coating. Typical external
    paint coverage
    includes an ultra
    durable polyester
    powder coating that
    meets ANSI C-57.12.28
    requirements with
    respect to adhesion,
    salt fog, humidity,
    Q.U.V. and Taber
    abrasion.

    Transformer Valves
    Flapper seal completely
    inside valve body so that
    any size radiator header
    can be used with the
    standard valve.

    Valves
    Valves withstand more than 25 psi and
    full vacuum. To prevent interference with
    the transformer and radiator, all parts are
    contained within the body. The valve is
    designed so it locks in the open position.
    Valves are painted ANSI 70 gray and shipped with O-rings and mounting accessories.
    Viton O-rings are available.

    Trantech opened for business in 1932, in Lansing, Mich. By 1970, the company
