    ACTION PLAN

    To contribute to the goal of preparing reflective practitioners, student teachers will write an Action Plan at the end of first, second, and third field
    experience with input from their cooperating teacher and/or the University supervisor. The Action Plan synthesizes each field experiences
    evaluation, links each field experience to the next, establishes goals for improvement, and forms an agenda for discussion between the student
    teacher, the cooperating teacher and University supervisor at the beginning of the subsequent field experience. For First Field Experience only
    (excluding Physical Education students), the Action Plan will be completed during the co-requisite Professional Seminar course.

    I have shown thorough to advanced development in the following Professional Competencies developed
    during this field experience:
    C1: To act as a professional inheritor, critic and interpreter of knowledge of culture when teaching students.
    C2: To communicate clearly in the language of instruction, both orally and in writing, using correct grammar, in various
    contexts related to teaching.
    C3: To develop teaching/learning situations that are appropriate to the students and the subject content with a view to

    I would like to improve my skills in the following Professional Competencies developed during this field
    experience:
    C4: To pilot teaching/learning situations that are appropriate to the students and the subject content with a
    view to developing competencies targeted.
    C5: To evaluate student progress in learning the subject content and mastering the related competencies.
    C6: To plan, organize and supervise a class in such a way as to promote students' learning and social
    development.
    C7: To adapt teaching to the needs and characteristics of students with learning disabilities, social
    maladjustments or handicaps.
    C8: To integrate ICT in the preparation and delivery of teaching/learning activities.
    C9: To cooperate with school staff, parents, partners in the community and students in pursuing
    educational objectives of the school.

    I will make use of the following strategies for improvement:


    In order to improve, I will ask my CT many questions, while also speaking with all other staff/volunteers within the
    school community. I will take part in extra curricular activities with the students, to grasp a better understanding of
    the students and the school community. I will take part in school activities and outings whenever possible. I will
    keep a daily reflection journal whereby I will critique my day of teaching. I will ask my students as well as the
    teachers I'm working with for constant feedback. I will take on the perspective that mistakes are essential for
    learning. I will devote my extra time to learning about my strengths in order to use these to create an interesting
    learning environment for my students. I will take the time to speak to Special Education teachers, and Resource
    teachers to learn new strategies and techniques for students with special educational needs. I will be present at
    staff meetings, and I will keep an up-to-date log for each student to help me keep track of their progressions
    throughout our time together. I will ask for advice and help whenever unsure, and take criticism positively.
