Technology Integration Matrix
Introduction The goal is to promote technology integration that is seamless and that adds significant value to students learning of core curriculum (language arts, math, social studies, and science content). You will investigate theoretical and practical issues surrounding the use of multimedia, applications, Internet resources, educational software, and hardware within K-12 classrooms. The Technology Integration Matrix is to assist preservice educators in making connections between theories, resources, content, and pedagogy. Learning Objective Students will analyze projects completed in class on the Technology Integration Matrix to demonstrate the relationships between theories, content, technology, and pedagogy. Write a five sentence reflection describing more detail or providing clarification for the information you filled in on the matrix. 5. Load the matrix to the appropriate dropbox in BlackBoard and post it to the matrix page on your ePortfolio. ISTE created technology standards for teachers and students in K-12 education to assist learning in a digital society, because technology has forever changed the way teaching and learning occur. It largely an umbrella term, being comprised of a number of theories, rather than a single explanation of how we learn, and how we should teach. Rather, it is affected by several factors, including theoretical perspective and epistemological position. There is no one, clear, universal explanation of how we learn and subsequent guidebook as to how we should teach. Rather, there are a range of theories, each with their background in a different psychological and epistemological tradition. If you are unfamiliar with the concepts and theories presented, please take the time to follow the links for further information. Explanation of Differentiation Technology can be the great equalizer. In a classroom of 30 students, how will you meet the diverse needs of students? Technology is one method to assist you in making this process a bit easier. Differentiation is modifying instruction to help students with diverse academic needs and learning styles to master the same academic content using engaging techniques and methods. As you complete projects for this class, you need to think of how they can be adjusted for gifted and talented students, students with physical disabilities, and students with learning disabilities.

The teacher can use
LMS as a tool to build a story about the ways they have learned certain math techniques in classes beforehand. They could also develop a story incorporating different counting types as well.
Students get into
groups and learn one of the math rotation games at the beginning of the year, one they are confident they make a LMS explaining the rules of the game so everyone in the class knows how to play it by using visuals and text.

The teacher will
use a LMS to fully explain algebraic structures for her classroom. What is unique about using LMS for this concept is that the students will be able to view it at home when doing their homework just in case they are confused.

understand by explanation and exemplification by the teacher of algebraic lessons on the LMS. The students will be able to go at their own pace and be able to thrive even just at home, still with the teachers help.

3. Analysis, Statistics, and Probability
After doing research
on a topic while learning about statistics in class, students can use LMS to uniquely show their classmates the results of their data and become more tech savvy. The teacher could also have the students post multiple stories throughout the year in the same capacity to show students the growth in their technological skills.

create their own post on an LMS which helps them develop and generate their own ideas while growing in their technological knowledge.
Students will learn
about probabilities and then make a LMS about different animals and the probabilities of them being in different locations and the probabilities of random animal facts as well. Then they take this presentation to class and present and talk about their books.

Reflection: This was the easiest matrix for me to do. I find so much possibility in using LMS for almost every aspect of teaching. There could be more parental involvement and inclusion with using videos as a tool to get messages and memos out, so there is not an excuse of not receiving paper memos. Using LMS in the classrooms opens up the doors for both learning disabilities and gifted students because it can be used to excel a students skills or be a resource that a student can use when having difficulties. In all, this matrix was very beneficial to start thinking about the immense possibilities with my new technological skills.
