procedure during starting/stopping/changeover of CEP. DGM (Operation) is responsible for
implementation of this procedure.

4.3

CEP NORMAL STARTING PROCEDURE

4.3.1
Check all permits are cancelled.
4.3.2
Switch-On the feeder from MCC.
4.3.3
Ensure the CST level is normal (i.e. 2600mm); If not then take the make-up from
CST make-up pump.
4.3.4
Ensure the inlet strainer of both pumps is cleaned.
4.3.5
Check the oil level of pump and level gauge of CST from local.

Line-up the condensate system for running the pump in recirculation mode.
4.3.8
Check at least one of the ejectors is in service from water side.
4.3.9
Start the pump from DCS and note down the starting current and maintain
21kg/sq.cm pressure in discharge header.
4.3.10
Ensure that the pump is running smoothly and no abnormal sound is coming.
4.3.11
Ensure that there should be no water leakage in the system.
4.3.12
Check all the parameters are showing in DCS are correct.
4.3.13

Check the discharge valve of standby pump, it should be closed.
4.5.4
Start the standby pump, and control the header pressure by CEP recirculation
CV.
4.5.5
Ensure the discharge MOV of standby pump is opening normally.
4.5.6
Ensure the header pressure is 21kg/sq.cm and check the current for Both CEP
and ensure both are equally loaded.
4.5.7
Stop the previously running pump; control the header pressure by CEP
recirculation.
4.5.8
Check the discharge MOV of pump is closing.
