This film was made on August 1942. The film is black and white and it has

suspenseful music in the background to dramatize the feeling. The video itself

was very uplifting. The Indians were holding hands and gathering. And I also see

the British police beating the Indians. I will use this film to show how the Quit

India movement inspired the Indians to fight for their freedom peacefully.

Gandhi, Mahatma. "Message To Indians In South Africa." Mani Bhavan Gandhi

Sangrahalaya. Mani Bhavan, 2004. http://gandhi-
manibhavan.org/eduresources/article2.htm#top. 11 Dec. 2016

This article was written for Indians living in South Africa. The purpose of this

article was to thank Indians for their support towards Gandhi. This article

mentions how Indians should behave and the disadvantages of being an Indian.

The article states that if you don't have a good leader then the citizens cannot

make any progress. If the leaders are selfish, greedy, lazy and giving in to lying

and licentious, the common people will make no progress.

This personal letter is a document to Viceroy Irwin from Gandhi, and he wrote it

because the British were occupying India and taking advantage of their
resources. I will use this in my NHD project by including it in my quotes section. I

would ask Gandhi, How would you make the British leave with only words?

Round Table Conference. London. 1931. http://webhost.lclark.edu/campion//hist217/1-

This photograph is describing a conference that was held in London. In this photo

there are a lot of people in the room. Almost all of them are white. I infer that the

conference is talking about discussing the issue with England and India. I would

use this photo to talk about the issue between England and India.

This speech is to every Englishmen in India. This is how the British are exploiting

Indian resources and unfairness. I would use this primary source to site some

quotes to explain how people need equal rights. This document was made on

Oct 20, 1920.

This video shows Gandhi explaining his belief of non-violence and a French

translator talking after him. It is short, but shows Gandhis determination to stand

for his ideals.

2016.

This documentary explains the life of Gandhi with real photos and with a rare

interview. I will use this in my NHD project with showing some clips and quotes.

The interview is really cool because you can hear his voice and you can feel

how important his ideas were to him.

In this book the author gives a lot of information about Gandhis life and the

through all his travels he continued developing those ideas in India and South

Africa.
