RATIONALE
This subject follows the subjects of Applied
Mechanics and strength of Materials taught in the previous
years. They have acquired analytical skills. A diploma
holder in Civil Engg. will be required to handle such simple
structures in his professional life. This subject covers
designing simple structures out of homogenous materals
(steel). The students will also learn to use the latest
relavant IS codes in his design practice.(IS: 800-1984)
