Students will learn to identify and use proper words and sentences structure to do the daily greetings and introduce
themselves in Mandarin.
Students will engage in pair presentation work, listening and speaking the greeting words and introducing themselves in
Mandarin, doing practice activities and accumulate their own Mandarin vocabularies and its related Chinese culture and Pinyin
knowledge.
Unit Summary:
Greetings is the first formal unit that is taught in Ms. Wang's Mandarin class. It will open the door of students' Mandarin learning. In
this unit, students will start to be exposed to the basic greetings words in the Mandarin language and its related culture, learn the
proper pronunciation and usage of vocabularies and sentence structure of the greeting words, and participate in reading and speaking
the vocabularies and dialogues they learned. They will also be introduced to the basic Pinyin, which is the Chinese phonic system.
