ASSIGNMENT NO. 1

Temperature Sensors should be installed on the supply and discharge side of the cooling tower and
condenser. To know if the passing water is in its required temperature mainly due to prevent
malfunction and to keep the temperature in its required measurement, also to maintain the
efficiency of the cooling tower/condenser. I suggest using a contact temperature sensor type like
resistance temperature detector (RTD) because it can produce a very accurate measurement of
temperature and because from my experience in my internship our company uses RTD in its HVAC
systems.
Pressure Sensors are needed in the cooling towers, pump and condenser to regulate its pressure. It
is also used to know if the pressure is rising or dropping because it may result as a trouble in the
processes due to having a standard maintaining pressure. I suggest using differential pressure
sensors because of its many functions such as indicating the pump operation.
Flow meter is needed in the system to monitor the volume and mass flow rate of water circulating in
the system. the flow meter should be installed in the discharge side of the cooling tower so that it
can monitor if the leaving volume of water is enough or not so that it can open a supply valve.
