Youcanalsocreatethebillofmaterialinworkingview,selectInsert>Generation>BillOfMaterial>
AdvancedBillofMaterial.
TheBillofMaterialCreationdialogboxisdisplayed.

WeightpropertyissupportedforPartandwillnotbecomputedforassemblies.Theweightiscomputedonlyif

IfaproductorapartdisplayedintheBillofMaterialisreplacedbyanotheroneintheassembly,itsitem
numberisassignedtothenewone(ifthisonewasnotpreviouslyreferencedinthebillofmaterial).
ItispossibletoisolatetheBillofMaterialusingthecontextualmenuTable>IsolateTable.Inthiscase,other
tablesrepresentingapartoftheBillofMaterialarealsoisolated.
TheBillofMaterialwillnotbereroutedifyoureplaceitssourceproduct(theproductfromwhichitwas
generated).Inthiscase,youneedtogenerateanewBillofMaterial.
Youcanmodifythecellvaluebyeditingthecell(generictableeditionmode)byaddingtexttothecell,or
removingtheattributelinktooverloadthevalue(usefultooverloadquantitiesforexample).Noticethatifa
valueisoverridden,thecellwillnomorebeupdatedtoreflectlatermodificationsofassembly.
Youcanmanuallyaddcolumns.Themodificationsmadeinthemanuallyaddedcolumnsarekeptafterupdate.

Asotherannotations(suchastextswithattributelinks),theBillofMaterialupdatestatusisnottakeninto
accountinthedrawingupdatestatus.SoeveniftheBillofMaterialisnotuptodate,theUpdateiconisnot
activated.UseforceupdatecommandtoupdatetheBillofMaterial.

Onlyamanuallyaddedlineoranemptylineduetoinstancedeletionin3Dcanberemovedwhileeditingthe

Mergefunctionalityisnotavailableoncellsthatdisplayitemproperties(includingreservedlines),aswellas
columntitles.Mergingisavailableoncellandcolumnsmanuallyadded.

Asanyothertable,abillofmaterialcanbesplitintomanytables.ThesplittablesofBillofMaterialare
retainedafterupdate.

DeletingatableoftheBillofMaterialmakestheothertablesofthesameBillofMaterialisolated(itmeans
thatmodificationsdoneontheassemblyarenomorereflectedinthetables).
