general principles of working. Bench work and fitting. Hand-tools, instruments. Carpentry: Hand-
tools, materials types of joints, processing of timber. Blacksmithing: Hand-tools and working
principles. Joints and fastening: bolt, rivet, welding, brazing, soldering. Measurement and marking:
for uniformity, circulatory, concentricity etc. Standard measuring tools used in workshops: welding,

An over view of CNC machines need, benefits and limitations, classification of CNC machines,
constructional features of CNC machines, CNC part programming preparatory and miscellaneous
codes, transformations, sub routines, canned cycles for CNC lathe and milling. CNC program
verification tools, CNC program generation from CAD, CNC controller and motion control in CNC
system. Application of CNC and recent advances in CNC machines. An overview of Robots need,
benefits and limitations, classifications of robots, construction features, simple programs VAL, etc.
Fundamental analysis and control methods of robot manipulations kinematics and dynamics of
robotic systems.
