Learning Differentiates kinds of variables and Code: CS_RS12-Ia-c-3
Competencies: their uses
Key Concepts/ A variable is a simplified portion or attributes related to persons, objects,
Understanding to phenomena or events and places that vary in amount, nature, number, form
be developed or type.
Variables should be measurable, meaning they can be counted on or
subjected to a scale.
The two basic types of variables are the independent and the dependent
variables. The dependent variable is the presumed effect while the
independent variable is the presumed cause.

DEPENDENT INDEPENDENT VARIABLES
A variable is a construct, concept, or idea under study. It could be anything. A
person, a place, a thing, or a phenomenon. Variables are simplified portions or
attributes of the complex phenomena that you intend study. The word variable
