    Advanced Drama Directing Assignment

    If you want to be one of the directors:

    Please submit a 1 pg. typed letter as to why you should be chosen to direct. Please also
    include a description of your directorial concept.

    Submit a copy of the scene you want to direct.

    If you want to be one of the actors:

    Prepare a 30 second monologue to perform for the auditions. It can be one that youve
    already done or one you are submitting for your portfolio if you want.

    The Assignment Requirements

    For the directors:

    -You much pick a 10 minute scene.


    -Your scene must have a concept. The concept must be explained in a 1 pg. typed
    description.
    -You need to break your script down into a rehearsal schedule and turn in a copy of the
    rehearsal schedule on the required day in class.
    -Costumes are optional.
    -Set pieces and props are not optional.
    -You will present your 10 minute scene to the class for a preview and a final
    performance.
    -You will provide a written evaluation of yourself and your peers at the end of the
    process.

    For the actors:

    -You will prepare a 30 second monologue for auditions.


    -You will be under the direction of your classmate and will respond to direction given at
    rehearsals.
    -Your performance must be memorized
    -You will perform the piece for a preview performance and a final performance
    -You will provide a written evaluation of yourself and your peers at the end of the
    process.
