Wood Cement Board
Wood Cement Board
Wood Cement Board
• No Delamination
• Safe from Termite Attack and Fungus
Termite does not attack wood cement board
because the wood particles are immersed in
cement. Fungi cultures do not develop on it
because of its alkaline nature (pH Value = 12).
• Heat Insulation
It has an excellent heat insulating property due to
its wood content. Its K value is 0.1 W/m c, one of
the lowest among the external use building boards.
It helps saving energy bill for both heated and air-
conditioned area.
• Easy Workability
Working with wood cement board is easy. Most
conventional wood-working tools and procedures
can be applied. Dry process installation is quick
and clean.
• No Hazardous Content
It is asbestos free. It contains no health hazardous
contents such as urea formaldehyde found in other
board materials.
• Weather Resistance
it is weather resistant because the wood particles
are mineralized. Thus, it does not degenerate from
the effects of moisture, rain, sun, or heat.
• Fire Resistance
it passed BS 476 Part 6 and 7. It is classified as
Class "O' material. It can be used with heat
insulating material to improve its fire prevention
capability. Wood cement board partition system
passed the 1 hour and 2 hours fire rating test
according to BS 476 Part 22.
• Sound Insulation
With density of 1300 kg/m, VIVA BOARD is an
excellent sound proofing material.
• Economical
it is not only good value for money, its light weight
and easy workability reduces foundation and labor
costs.
• Eco-Friendly
it is an excellent substitute for natural wood. It
provides exceptional durability, prolonging life of
construction. Using it also encourages
reforestation program.

Guide
Wood cement board is a combination of
wood and cement. It inherits many
properties of wood in that it has some
moisture movement, meaning that it is
flexible, but to a lesser degree compared
to that of wood. This dimensional change
is subjected to moisture and heat. Correct
frame selection and installation not only
prevents unsatisfactory result such as
edge cracks
There are three recommended frame
types for ceiling and wall installation
- Timber Frame
Expands and contracts in the same
direction as wood cement board and allow
some movement
Suitable for most application
Joint
Choice and method of joint detail will depend on
Application, location, board thickness and surface
finishing required
Polyurethane Sealant

Surface Finishing
Wood cement board can be subjected to various
types of surfaces treatment on finishing. However,
owing to its alkaline content, it is recommended
that the board be primed with an anti alkali
premier, before a finishing coat of paint is applied
