Here the selected four articles are Article 1: The role of school organizational climate
in occupational stress among secondary school teachers in Tehran by G. Ahghar (2008),
Article 2: The relationship between effective communication of high school principal and
school climate by Ibtesam Halawah (2005), Article 3: Case studies of school community and
climate: Success narratives of schools in challenging circumstances by Parker, S.C Grenville,
H. Flessa and J. Flessa (2011) and Article 4: Student school climate perceptions as a measure
of school district goal attainment by K. Stichter (2008). The assignments are to do a
comparative analysis between four articles on the research question/hypotheses,
methodology, sampling, data analysis and finding of each article.
In the first article, it is mainly focuses on the influence of the organizational climate
of a school on the occupational stress of the teachers. The article says that 40% of secondary
school teachers experience occupational stress at moderate or high level. It means that the
stress level of the teachers is high among the school teacher. The study also states that the
stresses among the teachers are predictable especially in an open climate of school
organizational.
The second article study about the relationship between effective communication of
high school principal and school climate. The principle need to have good communication
skills in order to create a positive school climate. This study also shows significant
differences between male and female teacher in terms of Security and Maintenance, Student
Behavioral Values, Student- Peer Relationships and Instructional Management.
The third article is a report about a Canadian qualitative case study project that
describes success stories of students and communities affected by poverty. The success story
from eleven elementary schools in Ontario was collected over the period of one school year.
Then, the researcher used it as narratives that describe the ways that adult member in the
school thought about and shaped their work with the students living in the challenging
socioeconomic circumstances.
The last article analyzes a high school district’s use of student survey data to measure
district-wide goal achievement. This article identified four keys to student climate factors that
are academic learning experience, overall school satisfaction, communication and
environment experiences.
Accordingly, there are some similarities and differences that I find in these four
articles. The main similarity between the four articles is; it is focused on the school climate.
The differences between the four articles are main focuses on the hypotheses or researches
question, methodology, sampling, data analysis and findings.
