answers.

i. PRE-LESSON : Teacher gets pupils to describe their friends.
ii. LESSON : Pupils listen to a narrative about three friends.
DEVELOPMENT Pupils answer true/false statements based on the narrative.
Teacher replays the narrative and pupils check their answers.
Teacher hands out a list of 5 complex WH-questions.
Pupils work in pairs to answer them by proving suitable answers.
iii. POST-LESSON : In groups, pupils discuss the good qualities of a friend and list them
on the board.

i. PRE-LESSON : Teacher asks pupils for opinions on the term ‘Friendship’.
Pupils share their opinions with the class.
ii. LESSON : Teacher plays an audio text on a friendship between three best

In groups, pupils make notes on the key information of the
character and personality of the three best friends.
Then, they come up with a summary poster based on the
information.
Group presentation on their poster whereby each group has to ask
and to respond to at least 3 questions using why, how and what.
At the end of the presentation, each presenter has to express their
opinions and feelings about the three friends in at least 3 sentences.
iii. POST-LESSON : Pupils give a short impromptu talk about how they maintain their
friendship with their best friend.

In groups, pupils identify at least 3 statements that agree or

Pupils present their work in a mahjong paper.
Pupils move in groups to study each group’s work.
iii. POST-LESSON : Pupils comes up with a list of ways to stop negative influence from
friends.

i. Explain simple content from a text on ways to make friends by
writing at least 4 out of 6 ways in a short paragraph not
exceeding 8 sentences.
ii. Organise and sequence ideas in the text by sequencing the
paragraphs in the correct order.
iii. Spell written words in their poster with moderate accuracy by
having their peers spellcheck the posters.

i. PRE-LESSON : Pupils reenact their experience in making new friends.
ii. LESSON : Teacher assigns pupils in groups and provide each with an article

Pupils continue to work in groups to identify ways to make new
friends from the article and write them into a paragraph.
Pupils display their work and move around to check their friends’
work for correct spelling.
iii. POST-LESSON : Pupils work in pairs to brainstorm for other ways to make new
friends.
