• Teach and rehearse the fundamentals of proper marching technique with students in
grades 8-12.
• Instruct and conduct a 40-member Marching Band as well as construct varying visual
elements for performance in shows.
• Responsible for teaching new music to the ensemble throughout the marching band
season.
• Work with the Head Band Director to help organize and rehearse students for a variety of
performances including football games, band shows, parades, pep rallies, and other
school-sponsored events.
• Supervise and monitor students at all activities and performances.
Instrumental Music Tutor August 2017-Present

• Teach fundamentals to 6th grade beginning band students on flute, clarinet, alto
saxophone, trumpet, trombone, and percussion.
• Teach and rehearse varying musical concepts to students in grades 6-12 such as pitch
reading, rhythm reading, time signatures, and other musical elements.
• Create and implement supplemental materials for music concepts being taught to the
students including rhythm reading and pitch reading exercises.
• Work with students one-on-one or in small group settings to improve their techniques on
their specific instruments.
• Create an open line of communication with parents of students in the band program.

books as well as supplementary materials.

Ohio Federation of Music Clubs
The Agnes Fowler Scholarship is awarded to a sophomore or junior majoring in music
who is strong in performance and proficient on at least one instrument. A faculty member
at the university must nominate a student. The university faculty votes on the nominees to
decide which student is most deserving of the award at the university.
