Purpose : This procedure is used as work instruction for Electrician, Electrical Engineer ,
Desk Engineer , Shift In charge.

Scope : This procedure explains the 415 volt LT Switchgear Breaker isolation .

Responsibility: Electrician, Electrical Engineer , Desk Engineer, Shift In charge.

Procedure:
415 V LT SWITCHGEAR BREAKER ISOLATION

 Ensure breaker is OFF.


 Isolate 220 V DC control fuses 1& 2.
 Press OFF button on breaker & slide breaker isolation blue colour flapper.
 Insert breaker isolation handle in position provided for isolation of breaker beside blue
colour flapper.
 Rotate handle in anticlockwise direction & observe breaker is coming out in isolation
position.
 Ensure breaker is completely isolated.

BUS SHUTDOWN OF 415 V BUS

 Switch OFF incomer 1, Tie breaker or bus coupler and


 Incomer 2 ensuring outgoing loads on bus to be isolated.
 2. Switch OFF up stream transformer breaker from 6.6KV board
 of both side.
 Ensure 415V bus voltage and line voltage is zero.
 Ensure bus of board is completely dead.
 Isolate tie breaker located on another bus to avoid back charging.
 Isolate all incoming and outgoing breaker.
