Purpose: Standard Operating Procedure for Routine checks of ID, FD &PA fan

Scope: This procedure explains the routine checks of ID/FD/PA fans.

Responsibility: Boiler operator, Desk Engineer


Guide line:-
 All work permit should be cancelled.
 Ensure Power supply should be normal.
 Clearance should be available from Other department.
 Before taking in Operation Ensure equipment healthiness should be
available.

Procedure:
ROUTINE CHECKS OF IDFAN, FD FAN AND PA FAN

1) Lube oil tank level is normal. ( Below high level )


2) Lube oil filter DP is normal.
3) Ensure the lube oil flow is normal.( >5LPM )
4) Lube oil pressure is normal .( 0.8 to 1.2 ksc )
5) control pressure is normal (10 -12 ksc for FD/ PA fan)
6) Cooling water pressure is normal.
7) Lube oil temp is normal < 40 deg.
8) Ensure the lube oil flow through view glass in lube oil return lines.
9) Ensure the cooling water flow through view glass in CW return lines
10) ID Fan working oil temp is normal.
11) Observe any abnormal sound.
12) Bearing temperatures are normal.
13) Bearing vibrations are normal. ( <4.5 mm/s )
14) Motor winding temp. Is normal.
15) Any air / oil / water leaks in the system.

Environment & safety Requirements: All PPE’s should be available (Helmet,


safety shoes, earplugs, gloves, goggles)

Position implementing function: This procedure is used as work instruction for 0 Mtr
Boiler operator, Desk Engineer, Shift Incharge.
