1. OBJECTIVE
The objective of this Method Statement is to provide guidelines for execution and
Inspection procedure for Raw Meal Homogenization & Kiln Feed Silo concrete
works.
2. SCOPE
This method statement covers Raw Meal Homogenization & Kiln Feed Silo
concrete works under the project scope.
3. ABBREVIATIONS
4. RESPONSIBILITIES
PM/SM shall be responsible for initialization of the work, as well as to
manage the resources for respective activities in compliance with the
quality, schedule and safety aspects of the project.
The Area Surveyor shall ensure that location & levels of the concrete
works are as per approved drawings.
The Area In-Charge shall ensure that the concrete placement activities
are conducted according to this MS, latest project drawings &
specifications.
QA&QC Inspector shall ensure that all the relevant works are carried
out in conformance with project specifications, PQP and QIP. In case of
any non-conformance, CAR shall control it

6. PROCEDURE
All general concrete works and formwork shall be done as per CONST-PK-
QA&QC-MS-C-PCL-02, clause 5 and 5.10 respectively.
6.1 Selection of concrete materials
Concrete quantity:48 m³ approximately
Concrete grade:C40
Sand quantity:1016 m³
Coarse aggregate: 1327 m³
Admixtures: 216 liter
Cement quantity: 21.6 TONS

The mix design, batch plant calibration and all test results will be submit in
QCR.
6.2 Equipment
6.4 Methodology:
6.4.1 Pouring of Concrete:
Continuous flow of concrete during the pour as to arrange an
uninterrupted "fresh in fresh" laying of the concrete batches ,so to avoid
"cold joints”.

Sufficient shuttering with scaffolding pipes and joints shall be used to bear
the lad of concrete, attached is the sketch.
Ambulance with paramedic staff and HSE staff will be alert at site to meet
any emergency.
7. HSE INSTRUCTIONS
Concrete work shall be performed in accordance with relevant project
HSE instructions & HSE policy of DESCON at all temporary and
permanent works.

Any liquid fuel spills and accidental waste disposal shall be avoided and
properly cleaned up.
