Rationale for Ooka Island transforms teaching foundational reading skills by breaking the

Students start the 3D game by creating their personal avatars. The game is
organized into a series of missions. In the beginning missions, activities

second grade level books. As students advance through the game, Ooka
Island analyzes their progress and plots a specific path for the student to
master the skills needed to proceed to the next level.
