Lab Report Electronics 1

This document summarizes a lab introduction to basic electrical instruments and circuit simulation software. The lab covered using a digital oscilloscope and function generator to analyze simple circuits. Students learned that resistors drop voltage in series circuits, and diodes also drop a voltage of approximately 0.7V. The document defines key features of ammeters, voltmeters and ohmmeters. It asks students to draw circuits in Proteus software and provides critical analysis of learning the uses of instruments and simulation tools.

Lab # 1 Introduction to Instruments.

(Digital
Oscilloscope and Digital Function Generator) and
Software LTspice
In LAB TASK :

Stimulation of circuits:

Analysis;
This tells us that resistor drops voltage and in series current will be same throughout the
circuit but voltage will divide.
Part b

Analysis;
From my point of view diode also drops voltage, as voltage is passed depletion region some voltage
is dropped .In above circuit 5 v is applied diode just drops 0.69 volts
Post-Lab :
What are the important features of ammeters, voltmeters and ohmmeters?

Ammeter:
An instrument for measuring either direct or alternating electric current, in amperes. An
ammeter can measure a wide range of current values because at high values only a small
portion of the current is directed through the meter mechanism; a shunt in parallel with
the meter carries the major portion.

Voltmeter:
A voltmeter, also known as a voltage meter, is an instrument used for measuring the
potential difference, or voltage, between two points in an electrical or electronic circuit.
Some voltmeters are intended for use in direct current (DC) circuits; others are designed
for alternating current (AC) circuits..

Ohmmeter:
An instrument for measuring electrical resistance, which is expressed in ohms. In the
simplest ohmmeters, the resistance to be measured may be connected to the instrument in
parallel or in series.

Q#02
Draw the given circuits in Proteus software ?

CRITICAL ANALYSIS;

 In this lab we learnt basic uses of function generator , Digital oscilloscope and
Proteus software. We learnt to generate different waveform using function
generator..
 Proteus software is preferable to LT spice because we can implement design to
PCB through proteus.
 We learnt to draw different circuits in proteus software.
