1. GENERAL
This Document shall not be used as a basis for manufacture and supply of
original and replacement parts to AIRBUS INDUSTRIE unless specifically
required in a contract or purchase agreement .
1 .1 Subject
This specification defines the procedures and inspection for cleaning and
passivation of stainless steel, and nickel and cobalt alloys .
1 .2 Limitations of use
Assemblies formed by metals other than stainless steel and nickel and
cobalt alloys shall not be immersed in any process solution, except when
they have been adequately masked .
Assemblies with silver solder may not be treated by any of the chemical
solutions included in this documents .

(1) For martensitic stainless steel with tensile strength over 1080 MPa,
it shall be necessary to perform a dehydrogenization in furnace at
190 ° ± 10 ° C for at Least 3 hours .
The maximum delay time between the part Leave to the bath until
entrance into the furnace shall be 4 hours .

4. QUALITY REQUIREMENTS

All the process bath shall be kept in a clean condition and within the
established chemical composition limits the periodicity established by
Quality Assurance Authority, the required chemical analysis and proper
regenerations shall be made to obtain the established working conditions .
4 .2 .2 Visual inspection
Check that the surface of the metal is of even appearance and free
from pits scaling, contamination, etc ., that could originate
corrosion .
