    1) The windbox dampers distribute air in the furnace for combustion by maintaining a preset pressure difference between the furnace and windbox. 2) As boiler load increases, the pressure difference setpoint is increased to provide more air for higher combustion needs up to boiler loads of 60%. 3) Dampers are adjusted to maintain a stable flame about 300mm from the fuel nozzles, avoiding overheating the boiler at low loads or an unstable flame at high loads.
