Reflection

Artifact Description: (Your Classroom) Design your own 2-dimensional classroom using

various shapes, line, circle, rectangle, and polygon.

What I learned: Designing my own classroom made me reflect on how environments affect

learning. I had to think about what the consequences would be of placing things where I did. For

example, I decided to put my desk closer to the student’s desk, so I can be more aware of what

they are doing. I also put windows farther from the desks, so they can look outside and have

sunlight shine in, but also not be as distracted by sitting right next to the windows. While I was

reading the instructions for this project, I was confused at first. I had to go back and read a

specific part several times. Finally, I decided to go for it and play around with the tools. After a

couple tries, I achieved what I was going for. This taught me that sometimes you must try things

out for yourself and look at things from different perspectives.

ISTE National Education Technology Standards for Student Addressed: Standard #4 4a:

Students select and use digital tool to plan and manage a design process that considers design

constraints and calculated risks.

Application of Skills Learned for the Future: I think this project would be enjoyable for

students of any age. It allows them to be creative, while also learning a useful skill they can use

in future careers. I could see myself using this project for my future students. It can be used for
writing assignments where students recreate the important scenes of a book, or students can

design their own business.
