ABSTRACT

Now a days shopping is too difficult for people even in high tech malls.
we have to wait for a long time in billing ques. pushing trolley all over the
mall is another headache. to solve these problems we are presenting the
Smart Runner.ATMEGA328P is the brain of the smart runner.
Smart Runner can detect the products we added to the cart and display
the details(price, exp date, name) and add the amount. if the customer
wants to remove any items. it can also possible by pressing the
cancellation button. finally total amount will displayed on LCD by pressing
the shopping completion button.
INTRODUCTION

1.The system assists the customers by shoping the   catalog of production and t
respective cost
 2. Helps the invertory management unit with an instindtive upgrade on each
purchase of product
3.This can be done by connecting RFID labels to the items and     reader with a
in the shopping trolly
4. This frame work will save time of clients
BLOCK DIAGRAM
COMPONENTS REQURIED
ARDUINO UNO
1.Arduino Uno is a microcontroller board
based on the    ATmega328P
2.  It has 14 digital input/output pins  6 analog pin  , a 16 MHz quartz
crystal, a USB connection, a power jack, an ICSP header and a reset
button

3.Memory – SRAM (Static Random Access

Memory )
4. Storage – Flash ,  EEPROM (Electrically
Erasable Read Only Memory )
RFID READER
1. The RFID reader has a radio transmitter and receiver inside. It is also
called as an interrogator
2. The reader transmits radio frequency signals
continuously upon powering

3. When an RFID tag is placed inside the range area of a reader, it

energizes the tag through electromagnetic induction and collects
the information from it.
RFID TAG
The Tag contains an IC for storing the data, an antenna for transmitting
and receiving, and also a modulator.

There are two types of RFID tags:

1) Active and Â 2) Passive

1. Active Tag operated at different frequencies of 433Mhz and 915 MHZ

LCD

A 16x2 LCD means it can display 16 characters per line and

there are 2 such lines.

In this LCD each character is displayed in 5x7 pixel

matrix.

This LCD has two registers, namely, Command and

Data.
PUSH BUTTONS

。 simply button is a simple switch mechanism for controlling

some aspect of amachin  or a process.
。 Buttons are typically made out of hard material, usually
 plastic or metal.

CONNECTING WIRES

Connecting wires is used to connect components each other

WORKING
.This proposed system works as on customer getting into the mall she/he
first takes a trolley
.Every cart is connected with a RFID reader, a microcontroller and LCD
screen.
. When the customer starts dropping products into the trolley, tags will be
read by the reader and  the reader sends the information to the
microcontroller.
. The microcontroller compares the information with the data already stored
in it.
. If the data matches then the cost and date of expiry  of that product will be
displayed on the LCD screen for user.
. If the user wish to remove any product from the cart then they can take
away that product from the trolley by pressing the cancellation button and
cost of that particular product will be subtracted from the total amount
instantaneously.
.After shopping the products data with total amount will be displayed on the
LCD screen by pressing the completion button.
ADVANTAGES
* This system helps in achieving a faster billing system.
* Helps the buyer to know the bill details in advance so that he can plan an
affordablepurchase
*Helps in business promotions for the supermarkets by gaining more
customers providing quick service.

DISADVANTAGES

   *Some advanced features

    are absent.
* It depends on the range of RFID.
CONCLUSION
*The proposed model is easy to use, low - priced and does not require any
special training.
*This model keeps an account and uses of the existing developments and
various types of radio frequency identification and detection technologies
which are used for item recognition, billing and inventory update.
* As the whole system is becoming smart, the  requirement of manpower
will decrease, thus benefiting the retailers.
*Theft in the mall will be controlled using this smart system, which further
adds to the cost efficiency.
* The time efficiency will increase phenomenally since this system will
eliminate the waiting queues.
*More customers can be served in same time  thus benefiting the retailers
and customers as well.
FUTURE SCOPE
*Development of shopping list and navigation system to search
the products in mall can be implemented.
*A low cost RFID scanner can be manufactured and used which
can scan multiple tags simultaneously for faster processing
and lesser resources.
*There  can be voice assistance included.
*Robotic ARM can used for picking and dropping products in
which case theft can be avoided.
*Using a GSM module, we can transfer the bill to the mobile
instead of printing it. This saves paper.
