SWOT Analysis
5 YEAR STRATEGIC PLAN
Inaugural 3 Play Season
James and the Giant Peach
Music: Justin Paul
Lyrics: Benj Pasek
Book: Timothy Allen McDonald
Based on James and the Giant Peach by Roald Dahl

Based on one of Roald Dahl's most poignantly quirky stories, Roald Dahl's James and the
Giant Peach is a brand new take on this "masterpeach" of a tale. Featuring a wickedly
tuneful score and a witty and charming book, this adventurous musical about courage and
self-discovery is destined to be a classic.

Tricky Subjects: Missing parents, loneliness, unhappy home

Interstellar Cinderella
Written by: Laurie Breckner
Based on Interstellar Cinderella by Deborah Underwood

A new take on a classic fairytale where Cinderella is a galactic mechanic.

Cinderella with the help of her fairy godrobot is going to the ball, but when the
prince’s ship has mechanical trouble, someone will have to zoom to the rescue.

Tricky Subjects: Feminism, Gender Norms

A Bully Ate My Homework

Written in partnership with students in the Orange County Public School System as a
part of their Act 4 Change campaign.

Our staff will be going into classrooms and working with students to devise a play
about Bullying to be presented at Kids Fringe. The hope is that this work will then be
able to be performed on a smaller scale at Orange County public schools to bring the
play, and the message to the audience that needs it most.

Afternoon Garden Party Event Details

For our inaugural spring fundraiser, instead of a gala, we are choosing to host an
afternoon garden party. We feel that this event will be more family friendly and attract
more of the clientele we hope to retain for our shows. It was also important to our team
to integrate our mascot and imagery (Worms, garden, outdoors) into as many aspects of
the event as possible. We are teaming up with community organizations to help reduce
some of the costs of the event.

Our daily itinerary will feature an afternoon tea with hot and iced tea, finger sandwiches,
fruit and biscuits provided by Infusion Tea House in Downtown Orlando. In exchange for
allowing us to serve their products for a discounted rate, we are agreeing to exclusively
sell their tea at our concession booth during shows and give them 50% of the profit as
well as including their advertisement in our season program. We are also renting the
teapots, teacups and saucers from Orlando’s the Tea Room Experience. They are offering
us complimentary china and cutlery rental in exchange for us having their business cards
readily available at our event. The Tea Room Experience is currently trying to expand
their image to be viewed as a more family friendly destination and so this partnership is
mutual. Chapel Hats in Disney Springs will also have a booth set up at our event where
guests can either borrow a fancy tea hat for the day or purchase one to take home. They
are doing this in exchange for the opportunity to create a photo wall for guests to take
pictures in front of and advertise their company. For every hat purchased they will give us
10% profits as well as donating a hat and four Disney tickets for us to auction off.

During Afternoon tea, there will be entertainment performed by the actors hired for our
opening season. They will also be performing songs from our upcoming show, James and
the Giant Peach, to create buzz. Then once tea has been served and the entertainment
has concluded we will begin our bake off! Prior to the event we will approach several
bakeries in the Orlando area, as well as open up an invitation to all guests who RSVP to
compete in our bake off. Each contestant will have to make 20 servings of a dessert
incorporating gummy worms! The winning chef will win season tickets to our opening
season. This will allow local businesses to feature themselves, individuals to show off their
baking skills and earn some complimentary tickets and everyone to indulge in fun
whimsical desserts! The big finale will be the announcement of our silent auction winners
where we will be auctioning off items given to us by our community partners.

While this is all going on there will also be a “Kidz table”, which will be run by our lead
teaching artist and education director. This area will feature a craft station where kids can
help us build a worm condo to be placed in our future terrarium as well as color some worm
themed coloring pages that will ultimately be incorporated into our lobby decorations.
Then there will be a dance party concluding with a “worm off” where the kid who shows off
the best worm dance move gets the honor of naming a worm in our terrarium! And of
course, cans of dirt (Oreo crumbles, and gummy worms) will be served for dessert.

Staff

This event will be hosted by our Artistic Director. We will use six of our hired actors for the
season as our event entertainment. Outside vendors are used to prepare the food, set up
the tables and chairs, set up the china, set up the tents and stage as well as set up the hat
booth and photo wall. Our marketing director as well as our marketing interns will be in
charge of supervising the event and helping out with any last minute difficulties. The Kidz
table will be manned by our Education Director and lead teaching artist in the hopes that
parents will engage them in conversation and ask about our classes and youth programs.
Our Development director as well as the development intern will be in charge of
supervising the vendor tables and ensuring that everything is good with our partners.
Although we will have caterers from Tea Infusion present to cater the event, we will
strongly suggest that as many members of our staff attend the event to network with
community members.

Goal: Raise $25,000
