    3. Orientation Programme (for 1st Year B Tech) July 24, 2018 (Tuesday)
    4. Induction Programme (for 1st Year B Tech) July 25 to July 29, 2018
    4. Commencement of Classes July 31, 2018 (Tuesday)

    Note: An online Admission portal has been made live to fill-up Online Application form for all those candidates
    who have been allotted a seat in the Institute. Students are requested to visit the URL
    https://iris.nitk.ac.in/admission/admissions/login to fill online application for admission and pay the prescribed
    Institute’s Fee and Hostel’s Fee before final reporting for admission to the institute. (If it is not possible to fill-
    in the details before reaching NITK, arrangements will be made to use the computer facilities at NITK and there
    is no need to worry in this regard.)

    Note: 1) * Remission / Refund of Tuition Fees as applicable to the categories mentioned in Serial No. 3 to 4 will be given to
    the eligible candidates subject to the production of valid Income Certificate issued on or after April 1, 2018 by the competent
    authority during the admission. This Certificate is to be submitted to the admission desk at the time of physical reporting o
    avail the Tuition Fee exemption, failing of which their claim for remission / refund will be summarily rejected / cancelled.

    b) Mess advance & other fee (for Hostellers): Rs. 25,600/- (For all students including SC/ST/PwD)

    7. Documents to be submitted by The following documents in original along with one set of Photocopy
    the selected candidate at the time 1 Provisional Admission/Allotment letter issued by the designated Reporting
    of admission : center
    2 Admit Card of JEE ( Main) 2018
    3 Score Card of JEE ( Main) 2018
    4 Marks Card of the qualifying examination.
    5 Character & Study Certificate from the Institution last attended.
    6 Certificate of Category (SC/ST/OBC-NCL) issued by the competent
    authority in the Prescribed format In case of OBC-NCL candidates, the
    certificate should have been issued on or after April 1, 2018
    7. X Class marks card for Date of Birth. .
    8. Certificate for Persons with Disabilities (PWD) (if applicable).
    9. Transfer/Leaving Certificate issued by the college /Institute last attended by
    the candidate. (If not available it should be produced with-in a month)
    10. Migration Certificate for candidates from other Boards( other than
    Karnataka Pre University) ( If not available to be produced with-in a month)
    11. Medical fitness certificate.
    12. Passport Size Photographs: 2 No.s
    13. Proof of fee paid

    (If any certificate is in language other than Hindi or English or Kannada, true
    copy of the same in English is to be produced.

    Note: If the original certificates are not in English/Hindi/Kannada,


    English/Hind version/translation of such certificates, duly certified by the
    Principal/Director of the passing out institute, will be required during
    verification of documents.

    8 Banking Facility SBI and Canara Bank Branches with ATM facility are available on
    Campus. All students must compulsorily open SB account in either of
    above two branches and inform the academic section of their SB account
    numbers.

    9 Hostel Facility Hostel facilities are available for all the students. Hostel Room Allotment
    will be done to the admitted students on completing the admission
    formalities and students can stay in the hostels from the date of admission
    itself. However Mess facility will be available from July 17, 2018.

    10 How to Reach NITK All Service/Express Buses starting from Mangalore Bus Stand and
    going towards Udupi, stop at NITK Main Building. A number of Private
    Taxis also available at Mangalore. NITK is 21 Kms. from Mangalore on
    the northern side along National Highway No.66.

    11 Mangalore Airport & Mangalore Airport is just 20 KMs. from the campus and there are flights
    nearest Railway station to Mumbai, Chennai and Bangalore every day, with connections to rest
    of the country.

    The nearest railway station is Surathkal (3 KMs from NITK) in the


    Konkan Railway route (Mangalore –Mumbai route), and has stopovers
    for most trains passing through it. While Surathkal and Kankanady are
    closest alighting points for visitors coming by train from North;
    Mangalore Central is the Terminus for many trains from South India.
